4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Each student has their own look to them. You see the "stereotypical" look now and then, but everyone is just being themselves. I would say though, people do tend to dress up then down. There is such a broad range of interests that it is hard to capture them all in just a few words. Wherever you go you see personalities shinning through with smiles or debates and what people are doing by what they carry with them. You can see students playing frisbee, or skating, going from class to class, looking for a building that their club is supposed to meet at, or just lounging in the garden areas enjoying the serenity of campus.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: I do not care very much for the boys on campus personally.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: A typical college campus, I guess. A few dressy people who make an effort, but for the most part, just normal clothes--sweatpants, yoga pants, jeans...

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The boys are very stuck up and party goers. Girls are a mixture. Some are just like the boys and some are pretty nice and smart.

According to the girls on campus, the guys have it much better when it comes to finding an attractive member of the opposite sex. Girls complain that there are no good-looking guys on campus, and the ones who are attractive are either already in a relationship, gay, or as dumb as a ton of bricks. Guys will say the girls are hot, but shallow. You just can't seem to win!

If you're looking for a meaningful relationship, you'll probably have a hard time finding it here. Pretty much everyone is just out for a good time or one-night stand. Finding people that you can actually connect with might take a little bit of time, but once you do, it's usually worth the wait.

Social Scene
Meeting people is easy, but meeting the right type of people might be a little bit harder. There are so many different types of people on Hofstra's campus that wading through all the gel and spray tans might make it difficult to find people that actually have some kind of substance.
Hookups or Relationships?
Relationships are rare on this campus. Most people, especially the guys, are just out to score, and it gets a little trashy after a while. There's just no way of telling how many people that frat boy from ZBT that you met at Nacho's has hooked up with in the last month.
Dress Code
There is no particular dress code at Hofstra, but if you're not from Long Island, you'll start to notice a trend among those who are. The girls will wear Uggs and shorts, sometimes with leggings underneath depending on the weather, and a long T-shirt. They will also have spray tans and tons of hairspray holding up their Snookie/"Jersey Shore" hairstyles. The guys will most likely be wearing Ed Hardy and have spiked hair. Just don't call them guidos.
