Health & Safety: DO NOT GO TO HUBBS HEALTH CENTER. Appointment is required and they usually are NOT helpful. Campus Safety is friendly as long as you are respectful but are quick to break up fun parties.

Parking: Usually in close proximity to your dorm. Cost is reasonable compared to how much you will use your car.

Campus Housing: Having a good lottery number is key, although many students pull an illness card to skip the lottery number process to get first choice. Off campus housing is very popular for juniors and seniors, as well as "theme houses". The hill (all female) is very isolated.

Greek Life: There are no sororities for William Smith students so the party scene is mostly run by Fraternities and male sports teams. Some of the fraternities are open and friendly, but most of the time you are required to know a brother in order to gain entry. Drugs are much more prevalent in the fraternity houses.

Overall Experience: The location is beautiful since you are right on Seneca Lake and not far from the amazing waterfalls in Watkins Glen. Unfortunately, the weather is awful 7 months out of the 9 you are here. The winters are long, freezing, and never-ending. The people at Hobart are exactly how most reviews have described them; rich, pompous, pretentious, snobby, and over-privileged. The amount of BMWs, Range Rovers, Mercedes, and Audis you will find students driving is almost revolting. You are looked down upon if you are no wealthy enough for the standards of the elite. Most students are from the same 3 areas: Northern New Jersey, Boston suburbs, or New York City suburbs/Southeast Connecticut. The majority of students are not exceptionally friendly if you do not fit into their stigmas, and almost 80% of the girls are clad in Tory Burch with bleached hair, fake tans, and an absurd amount of Daddy's money. If you do find a normal group of friendly people, don't expect to be let into bigger parties; I've seen numerous people get turned down at the door if they are not "known" or do not know anyone who lives in the house. The only place where you are guaranteed to be able to party is the hockey house, but watch out for the coked out puck girlfriends. There are plenty. All in all, the priorities of the students here are very messed up.

Diversity: More diversity would be better, but most people are accepting

Off-Campus Dining: Good variety, but no student discounts so it gets pretty expensive

Transportation: No need for a car, but it's helpful

Off-Campus Housing: Many great houses close by, but houses go quickly

4 College Sophomore

Majors: There are many internships available through our Career Services Center

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There is a lot of cocaine, but if you do not wish to partake in these illegal activities, it is pretty easy to avoid, if you don't go near certain social circles

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Sociology is a very challenging major-especially the research methods course. However, the professors are all wonderful and the curriculum is very interesting!

1 College Freshman

Greek Life: William Smith has no sororities which is disappointing.

Majors: I felt that majors are very limited. If you want to major in business you need to either choose between Economics or International Relations. I feel it can be very limiting.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Its okay but I wish I had more options to choose from.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: It's really not great. If you want to go to the bars you are going to need a fake id if you are not 21. And the sports houses are normally fun.

4 College Junior

Academics: Some professors are wonderful, and some of them you wish did not have tenure

2 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Expensive, bad, no options, horrible hours, school shuts it down for random activities... pretty bad

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Some dorms are better than others. hope ya get a good lottery number

3 College Junior

Transportation: there are shuttles not many of them and they sometimes run on time, but everything is close and most people have cars

5 College Junior

Greek Life: only guys frats some of them are nicer than others
