3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I enjoy that I am getting an affordable, but good education. I love my professors. However, I do wish I had the opportunities others have on regular campuses. Hinds is so small, and most people do not enjoy getting to know each other outside of class.

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: They have very convenient class time options for students.

4 College Freshman

Career Services: Hinds has many programs that people can get involved in-whether it is technical or a degree.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: I do not use the computer services too much, but it was helpful when I have used it.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: Hinds has many nontraditional students and working students. It is not a typical college campus. Most people are here to take class and leave.

5 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I have loved all of my professors except for two. The ones that I did not like were because of the teaching style. Hinds has wonderful professors who really try to help and know the student.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I am at Hinds for my first two years of my bachelors degree. I am taking my basic courses at Hinds, and I will concentrate on my major once I transfer to a university.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: Hinds offers great scholarships. I received an ACT scholarship, which has helped me a lot.

4 College Freshman

Online Courses: I have taken two online courses. I have been very pleased with one class, whereas I have not enjoyed the other class.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: Professors are willing to help with comprehension.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education received matches the tuition paid.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I am only taking general education courses at Hinds, so my major does not come into play. My courses are not specifically tailored to my major.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The curriculum is typic and does not have variety.

College Junior

Online Courses: I am not taking any online courses. I am only assigned homework that requires be to be online.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Given the my life circumstances, I am fortunate to be back in goal and finally have that vision again that I can be or do what ever I want to. Education is the one thing no human can take from you. Now, I have the desire to learn more and more each day. I guess it's fair to say that I have developed into the life-long learner that I have always needed to become.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am currently working on a technical trade to later achieve my journeyman. The workload is tedious. Our processor grades us for copying every term and question with answers from every book. The wording of his assessments can be confusing at times My greatest struggle is math and problem solving. I would like to be able to record a session in order to go back to replay when I am confused with homework outside the school area; however, the processor does not allow this. Also, I would like to have some type of enrichment with other areas that are easy to me.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Academic and Career/Technical courses are available. Also, enrollment is flexible. For example, if a non-traditional student does not have a GED, then Hinds offers an entry level exam to assess what courses may be needed. Since I attend night classes four days a week located in another location other than campus, I am limited to the special programs and study options available unless I have to utilize the computer or library. Also, the book store is located at the main branch.

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The time scheduling and resources available could be improved. Being a first generation student from my family to attend college, I have learned to adjust and adapt. Another concern I have is the amount of gas I spend communicating to and from school four times a week. I desire to have a mentor help with budgeting since I am currently only a full-time student.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: It actively works unless bad weather occurs.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: The campus I attend is not close by the college or another branch.

3 College Junior

Career Services: Since this is a community college, I plan to transfer to a university after obtaining my certificate.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Since I am studying a different field, I believe that the courses I took ten years ago should not be counted within in grade point average.

3 College Junior

Student Body: Due to my career field of choice, my classes consist of only males. However, my peers background and personalities are very diverse.

4 College Junior

Facilities: I am taking courses for a specific trade certification. The campus location is located in a secluded area. Since I take night classes, the building enables students to access to parking in a timely manner. In addition, the security enables me to feel comfortable learning in a safe environment. On the other hand, there has been some malfunctions with the technical devices we are required to utilize within the classroom for project-based learning.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition was pretty reasonable. Financial aid I'm not so pleased with. Due to the fact, I had an altercation with them. While receiving VA Benefits, they took $800 away from me due to the fact, I was receiving too much money because I was a student athlete, and it is only so much you're suppose to get.
