Computers: The campus computer labs are great--there are several both for macs and pcs. One of my favourite things is that you can check laptops out of the student union front desk, so if you're not going to need the computer for a lot, that's a great option! I could survive fairly happily without my own computer, but I like the convenience of being able to take my computer wherever I want.

Diversity: I've been somewhat surprised by the diversity on campus--Hillsdale puts forward a very unified front, and while a large percentage of the student body is conservative, there are a fair number of liberals, and the religions differ widely. Most of the campus agrees on just enough issues to show how different our beliefs really are.

Nightlife: I don't party, so my definition of nightlife may be wonky, but I personally love the ability to walk into the student union late at night, run into a group of friends, and have a great time talking, playing cards, and eating ice cream.

Transportation: I personally haven't ever had to use campus transportation, but those of my friends who have have been quite content with it.

Health & Safety: I have personally never had any safety concerns. It's generally a good idea not to walk back to your dorm late at night by yourself, but security is really great, and will be happy to give you a ride if you call them! Campus itself is extremely safe, but definitely use caution if going into town late at night--don't walk by yourself.

Campus Strictness: I really appreciate the dorm visitation hours. Although they can sometimes be irritating if you're in the middle of a conversation, it's really nice to know what times the dorm will only have girls (or boys, if you're a guy) in it. My only real complaint is that there are no visitation hours *at all* during finals week--but that is completely worth the benefits.

Off-Campus Dining: I highly recommend the Hunt Club. It's really close to campus--not more than twenty minute walk--and the food is not only really good, it's fairly inexpensive, and the atmosphere is extremely welcoming and friendly. It is not a fast food restaurant, so make sure you have time to wait, but it's worth every minute.

Parking: A car is not needed for getting around campus, nor for going to some restaurants close by, but getting to the downtown or shopping requires a car.

Academics: Hillsdale College is #1 academically. Just look at 2013's Princeton review. We do hard work here, but the professors really care and are willing and able to help any student who has questions.

Weather: I haven't experienced anything terrible yet, but winter can get pretty rough.

Campus Dining: It's really just not great. The food is plain and repetitive. Everyone is forced to get a food plan which is pretty expensive and not great value. It's best to get a block plan so you can use Charger Change at AJ's which has good caffeine drinks and pretty yummy food.

Drug Safety: If you're going to party in college, Hillsdale is the place to go for safety. I never feel any danger of crazy things happening, nobody ever, ever drives drunk, and no heavy drugs are present on campus.

Facilities: The Library (especially the Heritage room), the student union, and the Biermann center are incredible facilities that are beautiful to look at and high quality. The Arboretum is also gorgeous and a great place to hang out and relax.

Facilities: Hillsdale College is focused on well-roundedness, truth, liberty, and integrity. It is like no other school that I have ever seen or visited.

Local Atmosphere: I think Hillsdale is cute. There isn't much to do, but the town is quaint.

Health & Safety: Safety and security on campus is incredible. I can leave out my laptop and backpack and never have to worry about it being stolen. When I'm walking back to my dorm late at night, I have no feelings of being afraid or threatened. I would have given 5 stars except I've been to the health center for mono and the wait was ridiculously long and I got charged without being told what for.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Everyone is very accepting but the population is mainly made up of white, upper-middle class, conservative Christians.

Campus Housing: Housing is nothing special, but it's doable and the rooms and bathrooms are kept clean. There are no amenities whatsoever.

Overall Experience: I am in love with Hillsdale College. Everyone takes their academics seriously. Everyone is morally sound and convicted by more or less the same things. I would choose this school again and again. There is a sense of pride and honor that permeates the campus, like everyone knows we're doing something different and very important.

Parking: Permits are free. Tickets and fines are pretty ridiculous, especially if you don't have a permit. A car really isn't necessary for such a small campus and the amount of nice people willing to give rides. Parking is always pretty decent. I've never not been able to find a parking space.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: People are very good looking, above average I'd say. Guys and girls dress nicer than average.

Greek Life: Everyone gets along really well between Greeks and non-Greeks. It improves the social atmosphere and gives us more to do on the weekends. Greek housing is in pretty nice, with a big house assigned to each.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Student involvement is pretty significant, but team performance isn't too great which lowers the spirit a bit. The athletic facilities are generally very nice, though. Especially the indoor track, which is the fastest in the country.

College Freshman

Scholarships: I didn't apply for financial aid.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Good for academics if you are conservative and willing to pay the price
