Overall Experience: I would give this school a negative rating. It was horrible and I am glad I will not be returning. The school does not care and all of their missions, goals, and visions are lies! The administration does not care and some professors do not care. I don't understand how they work at school when they do not care about the students... I refuse to walk at graduation because I refuse to spend anymore money at that school or support them after they showed me they do not support me.

Academic Experience: I can't say for all professors, but majority do not care. Some like giving out negative points. If they are not on ratemyprofessor.com, then do not take them!!!!

Student Body: I didn't care about that.

Overall Experience: The administration doesn't care. The majority of the professors do not care. You have to be on HCC 24/7 to get things done. I wasted money by going here. I decided not to walk at my graduation because of how HCC handled my situation with a professor. Do not take a professor if they are not on ratemyprofessor.com. Some professors enjoy giving out negative points. HCC's mission, visions, and goals are all lies! You have to pay for your own scantrons even though you pay to go there.I would give this school a negative rating if I could.

Academic Flexibility: You have to be on them 24/7. It's all a pain

Tuition & Financial Aid: You have to pay for everything yourself. This includes scantrons or whatever you need.

Online Courses: Some online courses are okay, but the majority of the classes are meh. This depends on the teacher you have. Make sure you use ratemyprofesssor.com! If they are not on that website do NOT take them.

Campus Resources: My advisor was not helpful, she never explained anything to me. I found a new advisor and she was amazing. however, the school does not care about your problems and just takes the professor's sides. They do not care if you succeed or not. All of their missions, visions and goals are a lie. I can only say this for the Brandon campus. With any paperwork that needs to be done or anything that is needed for entrance, you have to stay on them 24/7 or it will not get done! They are awful.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid counselor I had was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable.

Career Services: I haven't completed my degree, so I'm not sure what the job prospects are going to look like yet.

Student Body: Students at the school seemed to have transplanted their own group of friends and I found it difficult to find other students that were as dedicated as me for study groups. It just seemed very clicky, but the success center tutors are awesome and very friendly.

Academic Experience: The professors are amazing, they are helpful and will go out of their way to help you succeed if you show them you are willing to put in the work.

Academic Experience: The class registration process was a breeze, all my professors were great for the entire two years of my attendance, and they are all understanding that life can impede progress.

Overall Experience: Professors are very friendly and helpful. Courses taught are great and acceptable. Variety of courses are offered. Class styles are good, offered on campus or online. Class sizes are small and personal which is great.

College Student

Overall Experience: Haven't really used these services on campus. But the career center seems helpful.

Academic Experience: I took all mandatory classes for my AA. All my classes pushed me to strive and now I am returning for transfer credits because my experience was great before. I hope the classes for my major now will be just as helpful.

4 College Student

Academic Experience: Academics offered at this school are far and wide in topics which is great. Professors are helpful, demanding and friendly. Class registration done online is easy and convenient. The curriculum is to be expected in college courses. I'm a little disappointed that they do not offer my accredited course in occupation therapy assistant though. I am able to take the pre requisite classes required for the program here though which is great on costs.

Online Courses: Online courses at this school are great. They offer flexibility and ease with schedules. There's no mandatory days to go on and do course work but deadlines for assignments help keep you on track and stick to the class and the expectations of the professors. Workload is typically just as much as a traditional classroom, some classes require peer-to-peer interaction for certain assignments and professors are very helpful through email.

College Student

Career Services: I have not used these services.

College Student

Student Body: The students are very diverse. There are students of all ages pursuing their career goals and that's great. I take majority of classes online, so I do not interact much with the other students to say anymore.

Most students agree that their overall experience at Hillsborough College has been a good one. HCC has several comprehensive academic programs, and the great thing about being enrolled in specified programs is usually you have a small roster of professors who teach all of the required classes. That way, you’re able to build rapport with those professors and establish a great working relationship.

Students rely on the ability to mix and match their classes each semester, with some classes on campus and some distance learning (online) classes. Doing so gives them the ability to take care of their responsibilities at home with their families and still get all of their school work completed. Most of the faculty at HCC consider their students to be an extension of their family and are committed to making their success a reality. They offer the students guidance and support so that the students never feel alone in the process.

So, whether you go to HCC to perfect a skill or complete an entire program, you’ll find that the school can be your constant home for learning. Students there highly recommend HCC to anyone, of any age, who is interested in making an investment toward their future!
