Academic Flexibility: I've found that there is generally a lot of flexibility to the schedule, seeing as it is community college; meaning that you get to choose the number of hours without worrying about trying to fit a specific quota on the number of classes you take each semester. I also think the flexibility of the classes probably comes from the fact that a lot of the people who go to community college have other things in their lives they've already got to work around, such as jobs or kids, so having flexibility in class schedules helps those people out.

Overall Experience: So far, I've enjoyed my experience at Highland. It's not extremely expensive like a larger school would be, yet I still feel challenged. Basically, if you want a nice, small, generally easy to drive too, school then you'll get what you paid for at Highland.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education that I am getting here is worth it. I feel like Highland is a cheap school for a junior college. The financial aid here hasn't been the greatest here so far because there was a mix up with everybody, because they switched companies, but overall the financial aid office has been helpful in helping me to gain money for colleges.

Academic Experience: I feel that the professors here are involved pretty well with the students. It is easier for the professors here to have a better with the relationship with the students, because the classroom sizes aren't as big as a university. If you ever have any questions they are glad to answer them. They have study groups that do a pretty good job at helping you in your classes.

Academic Experience: I am a Physical Education major, and the classes are what I thought that they would be like. The instructors here are very helpful, and understanding of what you want to do. The classes I'm taking are mostly related to my major, some of them I feel I wouldn't need to take in order to obtain my degree.

Overall Experience: Highland is a great place, the academics are good, and the sports here are on the rise. There are great people here, everybody gets along for the most part. The campus isn't too small but it isn't to big either, and I like that about this campus.

Campus Resources: The general campus aesthetics are pretty good. There's a brand new wellness center for working out and going to the gym. It provides athletes a place to work out during the winter for bad storms. The overall campus is averaged size so its easy to hang out in between classes and grab a bite to eat at our local café right by the cafeteria.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: My school has a van that takes kids to Wal-Mart every Sunday. It is really helpful because our town is in the middle of nowhere and it saves us a lot of gas to go to the nearest Wal Mart to grab some food. Through the program you get to meet a lot of students around campus.

Campus Resources: Students who applied for SSS in my school and got in receive free printing and use of transfer guides and school work study. While students who don't need SSS, still have to pay for printing and little small things around our campus. It benefits the kids who really need the financial help but the students who don't need the financial help miss out on the free printing. The internet and wireless access is pretty good during the night but its pretty bad during the day because students want to use it so much.

Academic Experience: It's frustrating that in several of my required classes, I'm learning nothing new. I'm forced to enroll in a class in which the teacher is basically reviewing what I learned in high school. This is not always the case, but has happened more than once. However, many teachers are friendly and speak to the students outside of class. All I have personally dealt with are willing to help students if they need it.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I had to visit the financial aid office several times before my verification forms were completed correctly and my aid was cleared. The staff is friendly though, and were always willing to help.

Academic Experience: I'm majoring in music. I'm getting my gen eds out of the way, and am able to take music theory as well as some performance based classes.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I believe one thing that makes this school great is the friendly atmosphere. The teachers and faculty are always trying to help you in whatever way they can. Faculty create activities for students to do as well as resources to be successful.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: I believe the career center and transfer coordinator do a good job of helping you find the school you want and how to make it to the next step. The staff is very hard working to help you achieve what you want.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I love the campus and the teachers. The classes are small which is great for me but there are not enough classes to take that I need.

4 College Senior

Student Body: Lots of diversity and opportunity for interaction.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I have had an opportunity to receive an excellent general education degree and, at the same time, work on campus in the technology department.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My anatomy teachers' lectures were worthless because there was a bad speech and language impediment on his part. I got more out of reading the text.
