3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of off campus dining options available that offer good student discounts, variety and convenience.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Once you leave campus, there is NO WHERE to go. You are in the middle of now where, especially if you are coming from the northeast. There is fast food, and a couple of restaurants that close very early. Soooooo, you have a couple fast food options, gas stations, and hobos.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Since everything practically is included, cost isn't really a big deal. We have a lot of options so it's hard to get tired of the food options. There are definitely some favorites on campus, but they're all really good! I love the food at HPU!

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are like 100 Passport Partners that accept the HPU Passport Card! All of the local businesses love the school (there are purple HPU flags all over town and local businesses love to talk about HPU when you wear HPU gear into their stores). Shuttles take u around town during the weekend so you can eat off campus with your friends. Sometimes, local restaurants even come serve lunch in the Cafe so you can sample some of their new menu items. My roommate and I love to go to Barberitos and Carter Brothers BBQ.

Even though on-campus dining is great, sometimes you just need something different. There is a plethora of cheap and convenient off-campus dining options for students (who have a car or know someone willing to drive!). If you are craving something a little more refined for a date night, then High Point offers that, as well. Most restaurants are located on Eastchester Drive or Main Street, which are both a quick drive from campus.

The dining options off campus are pretty varied, and almost anyone can find something he or she is craving. Whether it’s a late-night snack from Cook-Out or some delicious Italian from Giannos, there is something for everyone. There’s a great balance of privately owned restaurants and chain restaurants in town that offer varying foods, prices, and atmospheres. Also, if you don’t have a car or just don’t feel like driving, there are a bunch of places that deliver! The best part about off-campus dining is that many restaurants take your HPU passport for payment. So if you’re running low on cash and still have money on your general account, then check out one of the many "Passport Partners" in town.

Did You Know?
There aren't really any places to eat directly off campus. In order to get to the main hub of town or any streets that have food and stores, you need to drive. If you don't have a car, then there are shuttles that go to certain areas of town. If you're in a rush and don't feel like waiting for the shuttle, then it's not too hard to find someone with a car that's willing to drive.
