Technology is definitely a priority at High Point, and the school provides students with cutting-edge technology for everyday use. Every classroom is equipped with amenities that students and professors might need to enhance their learning experience, including SMART Boards, projectors, state-of-the-art computer labs, and much more. Most students choose to bring their own laptops, for the convenience of taking notes in class. Having a laptop is not required by the school, with computer labs available to students in the Smith Library, third floor University Center, and academic buildings. Printers are also not a necessity since there is free printing across campus. A student might choose to buy his or her own printer simply for the convenience of printing from a dorm room, though.

Generally, you can find a spot in one of the campus libraries, unless it’s near exams. During midterm and finals weeks, the libraries get crowded, and it’s best to get there early if you need to use a school computer. If you do choose to use your own laptop in the library or anywhere else on campus, you can be assured that the wireless connection is extremely reliable. There is very rarely a problem with Internet access because the entire campus is wireless. If you do encounter a problem with your computer, then you can always call the IT department, and trust that they will assist you and fix whatever you need promptly.
