Off-Campus Dining: Pretty good Southern Cuisine nearby such as HAMS, Zaxby's, Bojangles, Southern Roots, etc. as well as your average fast food like McDonalds and Wendy's.

Campus Dining: The university has brought in a lot of new meals this semester with more gluten free and vegetarian options available all over campus

Campus Housing: I live in the University Center which is one of the newer dorms on campus. We only have two buildings with standard college dorms, most of the dorms are newer and have either a suite or apartment set up.

Academics: The Communications department is amazing. The President of the University is a well-known speaker so we have the best professors, equipment, studio space, editing equipment, and advisors. The Nido Qubein School of Communication is also one of the newest and most modern buildings on campus. There are different communications tracks: journalism, gaming, electronic media, strategic communications, etc. There is a heavy workload for this major but you will not get this hands on experience from some of the best professors in the country anywhere else.

Academics: Most of our classes are pretty good and have decent professors. There are some that have outstanding professors and some with less qualified ones, but that occurs everywhere.

Majors: Yes, the interior design program at my school is phenomenal. I did not expect loving something as much as this. I would do it again in a heart beat. I would love to eventually open my own firm or become a part of an already well established firm.

Campus Housing: Dorms are amazing. Not like any other dorm I've seen. They're often compared to a hotel.

Athletics: Students on campus are very supportive of the athletes but unfortunately this year some sports teams didn't succeed as they had hoped.

Guys & Girls: Some people may feel that many students come off snobby and preppy, but that's not the case. There are plenty of students who are friendly and outgoing.

Greek Life: From what I have noticed Greek Life seems to be a big part of campus and everyone thoroughly enjoys it.

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
