3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather in North Carolina is unexpected. It could be really good or really bad but I like it.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: The school provides transportation if it is needed.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I dont really know anything about the off-campus housing. Everyone is required to live on campus until they are a senior.

Off-Campus Dining: I like the surrounding places to eat and I think they are decent.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: The campus is moderately diverse but its diversity could definitely be improved drastically.

Campus Housing: Campus housing is amazing and most students live on campus all 4 years. Students take care of the campus amenities.

It is a great value for your money and still less expensive than most private schools in the area.

Campus Dining: Limited options not very healthy

Drug Safety: Cocaine is EXTREMELY prevalent on campus - usually goes hand in hand with underage drinking - alcohol marijuana cocaine are usually always available at parties. Study drugs are practically unlimited. People who are more into drugs use prescription drugs - it is not unusual to hear of students being sent to rehab programs for drug addiction during the summer.

Parking: They keep taking away parking spots the president wants the school to become a "pedestrian campus" not allowing students to have cars - this is way in the future as of now spots are difficult to find

2 College Senior

Scholarships: Most people do not receive scholarships or financial aid - that being said most students here are extremely well off - some have never worked before

4 College Senior

Computers: Good internet most places on campus - Laptops are essential here

3 College Senior

Transportation: A bus comes every 30 minutes to take people around campus but for half the places you want to go you must change busses making what would be a 5 minute drive into a 20 minute journey.

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
