Weather: The weather in NC is very different during the fall. One day it is raining and cold and the next day it is hot and sunny. During the summer it is hot all the time and during the winter it never gets to cold to handle.

Off-Campus Dining: The dining options off campus are, in my opinion, even better than the ones on campus! Just a 10 minute drive could bring you to almost any type of restaurant you'd like including southern cooking, fast food, pizza joints, wings and burgers, mexican, buffets, eloquent dining and more! Most of the costs are very reasonable and all of them taste great!

Health & Safety: If You Don't Go Here, You Will Be Asked to Leave – High Point is very up to date on keeping us students safe and you can not enter the campus without a tag or reason for being there. People who walk in will be stopped and asked what they are doing on campus and will be escorted off. I find it very safe from the outside world

Diversity: Different Religious Backgrounds – Here at High Point University we have a wide range of different catholic religions and international religions. Its surprisingly hard to find a lot fo others with the same religion which I find different coming from an almost one hundred percent Catholic school.

Facilities: Everything Is Unique – There is absolutely no college like High Point University. What other college has a movie theater, steakhouse, outdoor pool, sand volleyball courts, a free ice cream truck, an arcade and a sports bar?

Health & Safety: Always Safe and Secure – Security at High Point University is extremely important. At any given time you can find at least 3 security officers around to assist you with any problem you may have.

Academics: Professors That Care – One of the most important things about High Point University is it's staff. All the teacher know that they are there to help you as a student grow and because of that, they are always available to you for any questions you may have. Many of them are very understanding and want to see you succeed.

Guys & Girls: The young men and women who call High Point University their home for four years carry with them a stereotype that some live up to, while others dis-spell. Being a private institution, HPU can attract a very affluent and well-to-do type of individual, with many of the students affording the private institution price with their mother or father's money. For those students, college is but a place to meet guys or girls, drink alcohol, party, and live off their parents for four more years while gaining a semblance of a good education. However, for students like myself who have worked hard in school to obtain scholarships that assist me in attending HPU, we carry a strong will to work and get the most out of what we have, and hold an appreciation for the blessing we receive in attending HPU. These students, these girls and guys are the types of people I look to surround myself with, and ultimately will help me decide what type of women I want to be with and one day marry, as well as who I would like to continue to stay in touch with as college ends.

Academics: Through one year at HPU, I really do enjoy the three courses I have taken pertaining to the Communications department. The care and precision shown by the professors, as well as the availability of professors throughout the department really makes me at ease when making decisions about my present state and future at High Point University, and beyone. We have what I have seen to be the finest Communications building, facility aesthetics-wise, of any school I looked at when making my college decision. Add to that the amazing faculty and classroom settings, and High Point University has all that I need to develop a successful stepping stone to my future.

Academics: Growing Every Year – High Point University is best known for it's many amenities and luxurious life style that it offers it's students. The academics have been steadily improving since the new president came, and I believe they will continue to improve as the years go on.

Weather: The weather in NC is incredible. It's almost always sunny, and the skies are usually cloudless. People are sitting outside enjoying the sun, whether they are working on schoolwork or just tanning. It rains sometimes as well, which is always a nice change. There are also tornadoes sometimes in the area, and it has snowed a few times. To say the least, the nice weather is always around to brighten the mood, and when the bad weather comes, it's strangely nice for a change in pace.

Computers: The school is fully equipped with computers and printers of the new age. Their computer software is always up to date and the computers and printers themselves are some of the newest models out there. Their wireless network has access virtually everywhere. One of the most reliable connections I've seen at a school.

Academics: The Theater Department is extremely strong for a school whose primary focus is business. As a liberal arts college, the department strives for providing students with variety. Although most students are Performance Majors, the students are still required to participate in the technical aspects of theater, and are given the opportunity to pick where in particular they work. The courses require a lot of involvement but the outcome is for the better. They do offer jobs to students throughout the year, but they only deal with the technical aspect of theater. The theater itself is beautiful, and with a maximum of around 500 seats, it isn't too big nor too small. The faculty are warming and want to see their students succeed. They challenge us appropriately. Instead of telling us exactly how we should preform, they give us a light nudge and watch us take that nudge a little further.

Drug Safety: Not Too Bad – Alcohol is a huge thing on campus, but drugs aren't too serious. Parties do get busted by on campus security guards, but you will just get a warning.

Guys & Girls: A lot of HPU students are very big into greek life and tend to edge towards the preppy style. There is however a variety and you can pretty much find a group of people who share your interests.

Academics: HPU has a variety of classes and subject, with a plethora of wonderful teachers. There are some teachers who don't seem to really know what they're doing though. The workload is definitely manageble and there is a varying degree of hardess so each student can find what they want. Small class sizes, great tutors, attentive teachers, and all classes are taught by teachers, there are no TA's.

Weather: The weather is average. It's cold when it is supposed to be and hot when it should be. The weather is decent which provides a great campus experience.

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
