Local Atmosphere: High Point is a growing city and the direct area around the school has security issues, but a lot of the other areas for eating and shopping are really nice and the local business owners love and support students and campus activities.

Guys & Girls: A+ for sure. High Point University has some of the best looking students of any college I've ever been to. The girls are way hot, and most of them are really nice. Most of the guys are chill too, and everyone gets a long. Its pretty preppy dress wise, but a lot of people wear workout clothes or whatever they want to class. On the weekends its pretty casual too, no one will really judge you for whatever you're wearing. I will say that most of the best girls have boyfriends, but there's still a lot of hot single girls too. Students all around are nice and friendly, they care about the school and about each other.

Campus Strictness: Because High Point isnt in the nicest area of the country, Campus Security is crucial. This is both a good and a bad thing, but mostly good. Parties are usually not broken up without a major reason, and fines have decreased considerably from years past. There's always a lot going on on main campus, so its hard for security to be super strict. They do a good job of keeping students safe and making sure visitors and guests are approved to be on campus. Overall they dont intervene with parties and college life if you respect them and are reasonable.

Campus Dining: Campus Dining at HPU is unparalleled. The food is absolutely delicious, with a ton of diverse options. No matter what you're in the mood for you'll be able to find something great, from ChickFilA, to the Panera style Great Day Bakery, to the sports bar type option The Point, there is no shortage of options. A personal favorite of mine is the newly added fresh sushi station at the Grill.

Athletics: Despite the lack of a football team, High Point has tremendous amounts of school spirit for other teams and sporting events. Just recently a girls volleyball game had the entire greek community out beforehand for a cookout! Games are always posted and well attended, people rep purple and white and really get into it! It is what you make it, our soccer, basketball and baseball teams are huge, as are the lacrosse teams. Last year HPU even had a contestant on the ESPN College Slam Dunk Competition! Go Panthers

Off-Campus Dining: If you want to go out and eat you can find a few good restaurants, there's a lot of fast food, some chains you've probably never even heard of

Diversity: mostly white kids but you can find anyone on campus, there's an international club and highpoint has people from all over the world

Guys & Girls: Everyone is pretty good looking. Dresses well. No guys worth dating, and hard to find good girl friends. A lot of people grew up in wealthy families and act that way. The guy to girl ratio is horrible and all the good guys are scooped up before you've got a chance. If you have money and can fake a smile you'll be all set.

Academics: I couldn't take the curriculum here seriously.. The classes were beyond easy and weren't even challenging.. I remember being put into this English class which was legit déjà vu. All the stuff we were learning were things that I've already learnt in eleventh grade English. How can you expect to grow as a student and expand your knowledge if you're forcing me to take a class with nothing new to learn? They could of at least allowed me to take a more advanced class or an alternative. I also remember asking my math teacher a question and she couldn't even provide an answer or even some help.. I'm pretty sure my question wasn't even that difficult, so there's no excuse. However, my science classes were helpful and slightly challenging.

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
