Academics: High Point has the best classes in the best atmosphere. Every professor i've had has not only be extraordinary, but they also act as mentors. I've gotten coffee numerous times with my professors just to chat about interesting yesterday's lecture was. The staff at HPU really cares about their student's interests and are always available to help.

Weather: Summer lasts until mid october and it starts getting warm again in late march. For the 4 months of non-summer weather, it only usually gets down to mid 40s. Snows a couple times a year but it only stays for a day or two.

Greek Life: Frats throw parties all the time, but if you're not in the frat, don't expect to talk to anyone in it. They only associate with themselves and look down on you if you're not a brother. The parties are awesome though.

Campus Dining: Food is amazing at all dining places. Steakhouse is a 5 course meal that would cost upwards of $75 in the real world, but is only one meal here. Great deal.

Guys & Girls: At HPU you will find some attractive girls but their snobbishness takes their looks way down thats why I gave them a C-.

Nightlife: Not much to do at HPU besides go to the frat houses. After that the city of High Point doesn't have activities outside of that.

Campus Strictness: From what I have seen they are pretty loose on the students but extremely protective when they see an outsider coming, especially if you do not fit the HPU profile.

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
