Health & Safety: The campus is a close campus. There is security on main campus and at the campuses other than main campus. You have to use student ID to get in and out and show it to the security. Always security around.

Off-Campus Dining: There are options near school such as foreign options, fast food and local diners. Also can go to the next city with more options. Cost is average and many places offer student discounts.

Off-Campus Housing: I found my housing on my own because the school doesn't have any off-campus housing not funded by the school.

Nightlife: Most parties are small and in dorm rooms but security starts cracking down so nightlife is getting slim to none.

Health & Safety: I have never had a moment where I felt unsafe on campus. I have always been perfectly comfortable walking around at any hour. Thanks to the many improvements that the President has made as far as safety measures I am sure many students will agree with how great the security is. I haven't heard much of anything regarding campus crime during my first year there. The only complaint I have heard regarding security was for the security for one of the off-campus housing locations, but it has been brought to the Presidents attention and he is working to improve it.

Weather: The weather is pretty good most of the time, however in North Carolina is tends to be a little bipolar. It could be sunny and perfect one moment, then it could down pour for like 15-30 minutes, then it could clear right up! Sometimes it was a little unpredictable. But there is rarely any snow, but whenever snow does arrive, classes are generally cancelled. But there are some really beautiful days that have my friends and family back home really jealous. Although in August and September you might say it gets extremely hot and humid, hard to control the frizzy hair sometimes!

Guys & Girls: I don't know if I would say there is a big diversity in dress attire. There is some variety but the majority I would label as preppy. Guys wear a lot of colorful shorts and like a polo or button down shirt. The girls wear a lot of dresses and cute outfits. Leggings and boots is a popular sight there. But overall I would label it as preppy, but hey! Why not dress to impress right? Although at night sometimes the girls outfits can get a little skimpy, in some cases, not all though. As far as social life, often times it is heard that you need to be a part of some sports team or the Greek life to really be in the know of things happening on campus, and I'd say there is some truth to that. I would say there is some southern roots with some northern influence.

Campus Strictness: I would give this school an average rating because it depends on the case as to how security handles it. First time offenders with drinking get a by. There is not anything on your record, their main concern is your safety. However, many parties are broken up every night and they can be pretty strict when it comes to the night life. Then with drugs they are more strict. Getting caught with illegal substances can lead to a hefty fine along with probation consisting of random drug tests and counselling. They take these matters seriously.

Facilities: Student life is remarkable. My closest friends and family members are always intrigued at how well the campus looks as well as how we're continuing to expand to meet the demands of the students. They have an incredible workout facility in which students are able to keep in shape. Campus events as always posted just in case students would like to have the opportunity to try something different and new.

Facilities: The school provides great opportunities for students who attend school in the evening to have a meal if their schedule doesn't allow them to after work and before classes. The library is exceptional in the hours that they are open in which students have access with the use of their card after hours in order to access the facility to continue to work on projects, have meetings, study and complete research.

Majors: At High Point University, I am enrolled in the School Of Education. The School is a great place that houses all of the classes for students with majors in Education and Special Education. I feel that the program is a tremendous help to me because I work with students with have a hearing impairment as well as with students that have a disability in which I love to work with. There are various schools in the surrounding area in which I can have the opportunity to work with students that have a disability. I am grateful and Blessed to be able to be in a position where I am already working in a school system that I am able to work closely with the students in which I am going to receive my degree in.

Athletics: All students that are actively a part of athletics as well as non-athletic students have a chance to come together and share in their love of sports. Whether or not a student plays, they are all there together with one another supporting each other. The overwhelming amount of community support as well as the families of the students that are participating as well as those who are participating, is a great feeling. To see and know that I am a part of a university that focuses on academics first as well as giving support to students in athletics is a great feeling. The faculty actively supports the students as well, whether showing up to games or giving them words of encouragement.

Off-Campus Dining: Students have the opportunity to use their passport to dine at off campus locations as well as possibly receiving a slight discount depending upon the establishment.

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
