As a transfer student from abroad, sway away from this community college as quickly as possible!!! I unfortunately wasted my time and money trying to transfer my credits only for them to decline 75% of them making my sophomore year that i studied USELESS!!! providing me with no reasoning whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that i paid 1,300$ for a course that even before attending the course itself they wouldn't allow me to get a refund. Its a dysfunctional system and registrar. They also made me pay for a evaluation of my transfer credits even though I had to find out afterwards that the university that i came from was already well accredited, making me waste more money on nothing!?! The only good experience were the professors that they have, its unfortune that they work for a unappealing college.
Henry Ford College has several areas for improvement that detract from the overall student experience. One major issue is the lack of communication and transparency regarding administrative decisions and policies. Students often feel uninformed and frustrated due to frequent changes without adequate notice or explanation. Additionally, the campus facilities are in need of updating and maintenance, with outdated technology and limited resources hindering the learning environment. The academic advising and counseling services also fall short, with long wait times and limited availability of appointments, leaving students feeling unsupported and uncertain about their academic paths. Overall, Henry Ford College could benefit from addressing these shortcomings to better serve its student body and create a more positive and productive learning environment.
My time in college was marked by a strong sense of intellectual engagement and academic rigor. I valued the committed instructors who were not only subject matter specialists in their fields but also devoted mentors who cared deeply about the success of their students. I was able to explore my areas of interest and cultivate critical thinking abilities that have been extremely useful outside of the classroom thanks to the availability of research opportunities and cutting-edge facilities. My experience in college was marked by both intellectual prowess and general human growth. I hope that attempts to make the classroom more interesting and welcoming to new students will continue. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've been provided.
