4 College Freshman

Weather: When the weather is nice the quad is filled with people and it is such a fun place to be!

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are several apartment buildings that range in value and price, but there are also several rental homes and companies to choose from as well.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are only like 4 places to eat that are within a few miles of the school.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: The diversity on campus ranges from race to sexual orientation to economic background, and the acceptance is phenomenal. Every student on campus is so accepting and everyone is friendly, no matter who you are or where you come from.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Unless you have a car of your own, you better not count on going anywhere for awhile.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: You hardly ever hear about crimes on campus or about any violence at all. I feel pretty safe on campus strictly because the students are so great. Campus police is basically nonexistent so it is not because of their existence that I feel safe.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Thirsty Thursday is literally the talk of the town. Since parties are really the only thing to do in the town for fun, they are a big deal. There are usually several places to go party during the week. They are usually just at somebody's house, because there are no bars or nightlife in the town. It just recently became a wet county and started serving beer anyways.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: They are very flexible with scholarship deadlines and allowed me to turn mine in last minute, which most colleges do not allow. They have a wide range of scholarships that cover students making anywhere from a 19 to a 32 on their ACT. I made a 30 and I was given a full ride to Henderson, which is wonderful. They also stack scholarships, so any leftover money I have on my account is given back to me on a refund check, which is amazing!

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: I grew up in the same town as the college so it is easy for me to say that I love the atmosphere of the town because my family and everything I like to do is nearby. However, there are no movie theaters, skating rinks, bowling alleys, or nice restaurants to eat at within a 40 mile radius. Most of the college students hate living in the town.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Housing for freshman is really bad, but otherwise the campus housing is pretty good. They just built new co-ed dorms that are available for upperclassmen and they are very nice.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There is no form of drug safety on campus. The campus police are more concerned with parking passes than they are underage drinking or drugs on campus. Most of the professors don't even notice if their students come into class hungover or still high from the Thirsty Thursday events the night before.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: As a former Greek member, the Greek Life is not all that it seems like. It isn't all fun and games and parties. A lot of work and responsibility is involved, but since the members are only concerned with the fun and games, the responsibilities are usually tossed to the side. While hazing is not an issue on campus, Greek Life is still full of drama and unnecessary attention.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Our football team has won the GAC conference two years in a row, which is a big deal all over campus. I would say that more than 80% of the student body attends some sort of athletic event each day. Since it is a small southern school, the main reason students come to this college is on an athletic scholarship or to play on a sports team. The school spirit is contagious and the school takes their traditions very seriously with their Pine Tree speech (it will give you chills) and other campus activities. That old Reddie spirit is wonderful!

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I did not apply for financial aid so I cannot answer

3 College Freshman

Computers: The computers on our campus are like every other computer in the world

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I love how strict the Henderson campus is so no one gets out of control

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletics at a Division two school are not that popular.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: I have met many different people from all over the world

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I think most students participate in doing drugs and alcohol

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I took a friend there one time and the service was great.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I do not go out much, so I do not know much about the night life.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Being just a freshman, I cannot live offcampus. I do not know anything about it

4 College Freshman

Weather: I've been living in Arkansas my whole life and I love the weather

3 College Freshman

Academics: Being a freshman, I have not gotten introduced to the different business courses that Henderson State University has to offer.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living in a Freshman dorm has its differents ups and downs.
