4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love the school. I'm a single young mother of two and they work with my schedule. My admissions lady is incredible and she's super nice.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: It's a small college, lots of one on one. You don't have to sign up or possibly miss a class cause its too full, they do it all for you. You can add or subtract a class as necessary. Very flexible.

Campus Resources: The network is great, people are always Available to help the hours for computer use are more then I have needed.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: They have busses that will take you to the trimet and help you out a lot to make sure your there on time. They also have students check in to see if they missed class why they missed it an what can they do to help it not happen again. They're very involved in your life.

College Junior

Career Services: I have yet to graduate, but they do talk about helping out a lot after you do.

5 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: They are always throwing a BBQ of some sort for the students to reward them for hard work. Excellent student centers

Academic Experience: I'm a Medical Assisting Major, and the facilities and workload have been perfect.

Tuition & Financial Aid: All experiences with this school have so far been positive

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: So far have enjoyed all of my classes, professors are usually quite knowledgeable about the subjects, and student services makes everything run much more smoothly

Campus Resources: I've never really had issues with anything do to with Heald. They are a great college.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: It only offers the learning center (computer lab), bookstore (expensive), and rides/ride share

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Its a good school. I love the small classes and a majority of my teachers. They just need to get more organized when it comes to class schedules and the order the classes are taken. Also could really lower tuition. It's a bit rediculous.

Career Services: The Career Services people are amazing. but if you are not the one seeking help, they will not help you. they do not go out of their way for people who just dont care. i think thats the way it should be. Why waste resources on students that are too lazy to put thier future in their own hands.

1 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I owe alot after financial aid. The amount went up after the first quarter. I honestly can't afford it but, don't want to quit.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Price is high but the education and teachers are good. It also fits in my work schedule.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: most of the time a computer is available but open super busy. Can get help when needed and tutors are available with appointments. Printing on campus costs a dime but not unreasonable.

Student Body: Friendships, Acceptance, Pride – Much of the student body are older adults who have busy lives raising families, working and attending school full time. The student body is diverse, many from other countries and new to the US. There seems to be no challenges except for language barriers but student help out as much as they can. You see acceptance and respect for fellow classmates and learning becomes more fascinating with so many different outlooks regarding learning. Many of the students become friends and work together class after class as we learn together.

Academic Experience: Unique Job Opportunities – The program is geared towards certification so the education is geared towards that goal. The workload is intense but not too difficult. For me, the material is new but interesting and easy to stay focused. I am amazed at how much is learned each term. The curriculum is focused on the career of choice and geared for top success. Most of the faculty are impressive and knowledgeable and more than willing to share their successes and failures. Faculty have an open door policy within set office hours but always are willing to help or locate help if a tutor may be needed. Attendence is crucial and absentences are frowned upon such as work environment would require regular attendence. All students attend an internship which confirms learned cirriculum and is eagerly awaited by undergraduates.

Academic Experience: Hands on Approach to Learning – Most of the professors are willing to spend out of class time to help with students who are falling behind as well as tutors available to help fill in the blanks. Many students help one another if a concept is difficult. Many group projects help students to learn leadership skills and working together as well as assignments on own. New class registrations is a breeze as the school has a great system that moves forward well. They seem well organized and students are a priority. The school personnel all have an open door policy and on the occasion a problem arises, they are quick to get to the root of a problem and solve it quickly. I am impressed by the professionalism at this school and am proud to be a student at Heald.

Campus Resources: Network Slow – Sometimes the computers are slow other times, they are fast. We are allowed to print on campus as long as we don't waste paper and we recycle. If we start wasting paper, they may start charging us per page. We do have to pay $0.10 per sheet if we use the copy machine.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Could Use Some Help – We have a Library/Learning Resource Center. It has a limited number of books. It is 95% computers for the students to use. There are a few books you can check out. You can get tutoring help here and can leave things for your instructors if necessary. We also have Career Services. They help with your resume and job search as you near graduation.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Ride Share Program – We have a Ride Share Program. If you and another student that you will be giving the ride to, register with Student Services, after ten trips of both of you attending class, you get some help with gas. Then your passenger helps with gas so you both end up saving more. There were times I wasn't sure we were going to get to school and the school came through for us. I think it is a great program that more students should take advantage of.

Online Courses: Keep a Good Schedule and You Should Be Fine – The online classes I took were not difficult as long as I stayed on top of what needed to be done. The hardest part I found were the discussion boards because it seemed that all the students were saying basically the same things. Sometimes it was hard to keep the discussion going. Other than that I thought the online classes were all right. You have to know how to manage your time though.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: First Time Student – The staff at Heald so far have worked really well with me to accomodate my class schedule with my work and personal schedule

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Happy With Choice – I am overall, pretty saitified with my choice, the LLRC provides tutoring and lots of information regarding community resources. So far I've been satisfied with the the staff, I like that they are willing to work with me to accomadate my school schedule with my work and personal schedule.
