Campus Dining: Eating on campus reminds me of eating in the cafeteria back in grade school. The restaurants off campus have decent food, but most of the time everything will be overpriced.

Campus Dining: No cafeteria, just lots of small food restaurants.

Campus Dining: So Fort Street is your best bet for anything with "variety." There is only one vegetarian/vegan place, one Greek restaurant, one Mexican place, one [new] Indian restaurant, and a crepe shop (which is very popular at all times of the day). One Famous little shop is Fort Street Cafe-a Vietnamese place that has some bomb garlic chicken. And yes mainlanders, most of the places are Asian foods (sushi, pho, Chinese). However, Marukame Udon just opened up down the street; they are a famous noodle shop that is packed in Waikiki everyday (they decided to open up a second shop downtown). Anyway, downtown prices are fair and you won't be paying above $10. Plus you get big portions. For the " All Americans" we got McDonalds and Subway-as well as some other spots on the other streets around campus. Also, the SoHo nightclub closed and over the summer, a new bar took over called The Fix. Best part is that they are a sports bar and are open during the day for lunch-prices are reasonable but don't think you minors can get away with drinkin', they check. One con is that places aren't open past 8pm-so if you have night class, you better get something before.
If you live in the residence halls, you're not any better than a night-class student downtown. You get 14 meals a week and they check attendance over there (don't try sneaking in, they'll catch you) and paying to eat there is pricy depending on what meal you're there for. Residence Dining Commons has certain open hours (as the employees are from Sodexo-a 3rd party food provider). But at night, they have a late-night grill for residence (which you pay with in the form of tickets that were pre-paid when you got there). If you miss a meal, you could always call Papa Johns-they deliver.

Campus Dining: I am giving HPU an A because of the wonderful diversity. There is some really good food in and around the Fort Street campus there are lots of little ethnic take out places. Great Vietmanese, lebanese, sushi thai, mexican and bento places . There is a McDonalds and Subway, there are also places for salads and vegitarian dishes. The campus is in the middle of down town and a block or so away from china town so there is also a lot of good authentic chinese. I am not really familiar with the food options at the other campus, I am aware its done cafeteria style and I have heard mixed reviews about the food, but I am certain they have vegetarian and vegan options.
