5 College Junior

Overall Experience: My experience is the best so far. I love my instructors and how they can relate everything we do to the real world

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It's great school is twice a week for a total of 68 weeks what more can a student ask for

5 College Junior

Online Courses: Everything we do in class is also done online all our homework is submitted online. We also can email all our instructors through our school website

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: It's split into modules and they help you create yourself to be the confident nurse they know you can be!

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: They offer certifications in Clinical Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, and EKG /ECG

5 College Junior

Student Body: Everyone gets along with each other and the age of students varies which is great because I'm currently going to school with my mother sister and Aunty and we all get to be in the same class

5 College Junior

Facilities: It's on a building and all classes are in one area. The study area is peaceful and relaxing.

5 College Junior

Career Services: The school strives to give the students the externship that they want and that could potentially be where your career would start after graduation

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: The only resources we have at school are the computer lab and the instructors, administration, and all the counselor's .

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Computer lab is open all day and printers are available with every computer. The internet is fast and you can get your work done easily.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition and financial aid is very good here at Hawaii Medical College. The tuition is cheap compared to other schools and you get your money's worth with all the certificates you can earn through out the year you are in school. The financial aid office helps break down the best way to pay for school and gives options on how you may pay for school.

Facilities: Hawaii Medical College made me so comfortable the first time we had communication.

5 College Junior

Career Services: Like I stated earlier, that the career preparation was one of the first class I took. I think that was a very good idea. The reason I feel this way is we were taught about professionalism and if at that time we were lacking it it was brought to our attention then we have the rest of the time to be working on it. Every one of the classes has some type of focus on professionalism. Plus they help with putting a professional portfolio together. And as we get classified and more experienced we can add to it.

Academic Flexibility: When I first started at Hawaii Medical College, I was in the billing and coding program. But I made the decision to change to Clinical Medical Assistant program. Before the transfer was made the staff had a heart to heart talk with me to make sure if this is what I really wanted. Once they found that out, all the staff included in the transfer was way more than supportive.

Overall Experience: My experience with my school is so awesome! The staff always has time for the students. My teachers are so willing to answer any question I may have. It seems like the staff and students at Hawaii Medical College are family. The staff are very supportive. What I like best besides the part of everyone is family oriented, starting career preparation in the beginning of the school year. So by the time we have our certificates we are well prepared for a career.

Student Body: A description of a typical student at my school shows up on time, dresses professionally, has a positive attitude, exhibits enthusiasm, willing to help others, follows rules and regulations, treat people with respect and kindness, is pleasant to work with, flexible and accepts new ideas, completes work on time, display initiative and keeps personal problems out of school.

Student Body: My school is great in diversity. Most student body in my school are friendly, helpful and very understanding

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: I wished that professors would go more in depth of the procedures and the lectures and just not reading off slides. That I can read at home.

Academic Experience: To my experience the faculty, staff members & instructors are awesome! The instructors always try to make sure your on top of things because they understand that we're no different from them and have families too. They offer study halls and study guides to help us. They make learning a fun experience for us all :)

College Senior

Online Courses: Our school is pretty new and so we don't have online courses yet. I think that HMC is working on it :)

Student Body: Most of the students at my school work either FT or PT jobs, have families to take care of, or are single parents. While they are juggling work, school or family they are also making a commitment to volunteer in several different medical functions. In Hawaii we are a multi cultured people and everyone gets along well. What I love about my school is that everyone looks out for one another. We are one big ohana (family). We all want better for ourselves and our families and so we help each other as much as possible. Looking forward to bigger, brighter & better futures!!

Academic Experience: Because our campus isn't as big as a normal college would be all the students no matter what phase they're in interact with each other. The instructors and faculty members make it their business to see to it that each student does well and is on top of everything. Although the work load could be a lot at times we can always attend study halls and sit in on other classes lectures. Almost every student who has ever attended HMC has had great experiences at their intern/extern sites and within a couple of weeks got hired at their sites.

5 College Senior

Career Services: They help with employment after graduation if not hired upon externship.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Since the school give everyone an IPad during orientation, the technical aspect is very strong. We are given all the tools (printers, computers) that are needed.

College Senior

Online Courses: Hawaii medical college does not offer online classes. But from my experience in online classes, it was not helpful because I did not get the help I needed.
