Weather: Dry heat! Desert weather, so bring a variety of clothes. Winter has rain and can get pretty cold, but summer is hot and nice. It's nice weather, even the rain makes people happy.

Weather: It's nice, sunny, and warm during the day, but cold at night-it is a desert after all. Bring a good mix, but definitely count on the heat.

Weather: I actually factored in the weather a lot when it came to deciding whether to come here or go northeast. When it came down to it, I wanted warm weather and three weeks of winter.

Niche User

Weather: It's beautiful here! There's always sun, and the mountains are close, if you want snow.

Weather: During February, it rains a lot (blame it on Valentine's Day). The nights are chilly, but the days are usually hot and sunny.

It’s Southern California. What else is there to say! You have about two weeks at the end of winter when the rain falls. Then, it’s nothing but sunshine the rest of the year. During the summer, the heat does get unbearable once in a while, but that is what air conditioning is for. It is a desert climate, so nights can get chilly. Don’t expect to be walking around in a T-shirt all the time though. Bring some winter clothing for those chilly days.

In short, California has weather that can’t be beat. It is common to see students working outside on a beautiful and sunny day. It’s hot but not humid. The nights are cold enough to cuddle in a blanket or dance until you warm your scantily clad self up. The weather isn’t for everyone, though. If you’re from a muggy, wet area, Claremont’s dryness may get to you. And if you need rain, snow, or lightning to survive, don’t come to Mudd. If you want sun, hurry up and apply.
