3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: I have all guy friends, but the dating scene is pretty non-existent. And the girls are the typical 'white girls,' which can be rather annoying at times.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I mean, it is what it is.

2 College Sophomore

Computers: The WiFi is very unreliable, especially in the dorm rooms. An EtherNet cable is a must if you plan on doing anything on the internet. And you have to pay for printing after a certain quota is met, which is met fast in my current major.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It's Upper State New York, so the weather is typical of this part of the country. The campus workers do a great job of keeping sidewalks and stairs closed to get to and from classes.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: It's a college campus and they do their job. It is sometimes difficult to schedule a visit at Perella without missing a class.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Hartwick has given me so much scholarship money, and I am currently working with a faculty member on getting more assistant; everyone is super helpful.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I absolutely love the programs that they have available. With the way they have things set up, I am currently earning a bachelor's in English in addition to becoming certified in Special Education. All in three years!

College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't had an internship.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Basically everyone goes to the frat parties on the weekend, and hops from frat to frat, after which they head to the bars and continue all weekend long. There's always a party on the weekends.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It's a super small town so there isn't much to do, on or off campus.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It stinks being on the fourth floor of a building, especially where I am at, because the laundry and kitchen facilities are all located on the first floor on the complete opposite end of the building, in addition to the dumpster. Everyone typically keeps to themselves on the floor, or form cliches, but all are friendly with each other.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: It's frustrating because the bus only runs five days a week and only in the evenings. It's difficult living far away from home and not having a car here because then you have to find someone to drive you to the airport, but it is doable. Simply is not the most convenient situation.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Its the same couple of places but they are great.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: The bus on campus only runs in the evening in half hour intervals.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: Classes are nice because they're small, but students here are the very definition of apathetic. If you don't drink, you're stuffed. The school is very cliquey. You will see the same people everyday.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is huge here. They are everywhere.

2 College Freshman

Computers: They are trying to improve the WiFi but there is still a long way to go.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There is so rarely hot water and heat which is horrible considering how cold it gets here. I have done homework in my room wearing a wool hat, mittens, thick socks, and my winter coat.

2 College Freshman

Diversity: They claim to be an international and diverse school, but there are a lot of white people.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It is nice to have smaller classes, but I feel that I am missing out on so much by being stuck in the mountains. Internships are not readily available, connections are hard to make, and there is nothing to do if you don't drink.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Mostly average looking ,if you care. A lot of people are excited to go to Frat Parties but I don't really care about them.

Athletics: New gym is fantastic. Both basketball teams got into the NCAA tournament and I believe it was widely attended.

Off-Campus Dining: It's a ten minute walk and some places are fantastic--Yellow Deli, Autumn Cafe, Panera--but it's not really the place to be if you're looking for diversity in what you eat.

Campus Strictness: I think they make the right calls involving drugs and alcohol, but RAs could be more strict about noise violations.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: A lot of white people, but there are a few international students to mix it up. Not everyone is rich. Lastly, the school is very open with sexual identity--the Hartwick Identity Alliance makes itself known through some events. As someone who doesn't identify as straight, I feel comfortable on campus.
