4 College Sophomore

Career Services: I have not used the career center that much. I have, however, had one of the professors who was familiar with the career center and she gave me a lot of valuable information.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: It's a mix of adults who are continuing their education, as well as students who have just graduated high school.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Online courses were a good option when I just could not fit the course into my busy schedule. I definitely prefer traditional classrooms, because I usually feel more interested and involved.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Since I'm only taking some general education course to transfer to another university I don't have a specific major. But the classes I needed were available at the times of the day/week that worked for me. The classes easily transferred to my next university.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I'll be transferring and needed some last minute Gen. Ed. classes, which HACC had and they worked easily with me to get what I needed.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: The facilities are okay but the facade versus the interior is a big difference.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I would choose to go to school here again. I have received a quality education while saving a lot of money.

3 College Senior

Facilities: You get to interact with many, vastly different people if you so choose. The facilities are all well maintained and clean. It is very easy to get the lay of the land and to find your way around

Campus Resources: I don't spend a whole lot of time on campus that isn't spent doing work, so I might be a bit biased. I do know there is a gym and a recreation area, but I've never used either. I can speak to the quality of the library however. There are ample resources and the staff is very helpful. They can help with anything from computer problems to formatting papers.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: In the one building there are only a handful of computers that are open to everyone. There are plenty of computers in the library. As happens with any network with many computers there are occasionally problems. Sometimes the network is slow or there are issues with printing. There is Wi-Fi available, but the speed depends on location and the number of other users. Overall the computer network is sufficient.

Career Services: The advisors are very helpful. Mine helped me to plan out what I wanted to do after completing my studies here. She also helped me to find a school that would best help me achieve my long term goals. After choosing a school to transfer to she helped me to pick classes that would transfer and explained the process of transferring. Having this help made it much easier to evaluate choices and then to take action.

Academic Experience: There are some very good professors, who teach psychology and human services courses at HACC. The teachers that I have had have practical experience with the subjects they teach. It is a much more enriching and enjoyable experience to take abnormal psychology with someone who worked in a state hospital as opposed to someone who just studied it.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I really don't think that I've had a bad teacher during my time at HACC. All of them have been very knowledgeable about the subject that they teach. They also are very available to students. Because of the smaller class sizes, they are able to interact with individual students and offer extra help and support.

Student Body: There are many clubs and activities available at HACC. There are events such as Chinese New Year and Valentines Day celebrations. There is a great deal of diversity on campus. There are people from all backgrounds and walks of life. This makes for a very interesting and stimulating environment. I have witnessed very few challenges associated with diversity. In my opinion it is a strength of the school

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: There are classes available at all times, from early mornings to weekends and evenings. Most of the teachers understand that many of their students work, have families, etc. Many take this into consideration and try not to overwhelm us.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Being a community college, the tuition is very affordable. The quality of the education is good when compared to the cost. HACC has provided valuable learning experiences at a fraction of the cost of a four year school. My only complaint is that dealing with financial aid can be confusing. I've found that calling does not good because they invariably tell you to come to the office. It is also a good idea to know the questions you need to ask before you go in

5 College Sophomore

Student Body: Speaking of the "typical student" at HACC, students vary greatly in age, ethnicity, gender, orientation, goals, backgrounds, etc. As a community college, students are either middle-to-low income or, occasionally, just money conscious individuals.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The school is a very nice demographic blend- literally everyone fits in! The price can't be beat, the credits transfer well, the academics are above par (don't go thinking that a community college is somehow "fake" or "easy." It is just regular college). Very supportive and inspiring community.

College Sophomore

Career Services: I don't know anything about the career center, alumni network, or job prospects, despite having been at HACC for 2 years.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I had an excellent experience at HACC-Lancaster Campus. Great faculty, good scholarships, good events. Advising left much to be desired.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Professors were excellent, although I must admit I always use ratemyprofessors, so good choices may have played a part in my good experience. Good visual aids, good energy, great online resources, and great library staff.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I think this school offers an outstanding education for a community college and you just can't beat the price. I love the small size that's not so overwhelming to new students and the smaller class sizes as well. The work load is just as much as you would expect at a bigger school, but the scheduling is easy so I can still work and go to school at the same time. I find everything about this school easy and comfortable and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a school that is willing to work with their busy schedules.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I have no problem contacting my professors about questions I may have through the college's personal email accounts set-up for students. So far, my professors have responded back to me on a timely manner.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: The library is small. I haven't had a chance to check out any athletic center, but I don't think the school has one. There are several activities going on and the information is always posted on their website or around campus.

Tuition & Financial Aid: This is my first semester at HACC- Lancaster Campus. I found it easy to find my school's tuition and financial aid information on-line through my college account. I am grateful for a local community college that provides the education I need to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education and that the tuition is a fraction of the costs compared to other colleges in the area. l believe the price someone has to pay in order to be successful and receive a degree in the United States is ridiculous! Education should not be at such a high costs for students. In order to go to college, my parents had to take out a home equity loan to help me pay for my college. After finishing college, I am solely responsible to pay them back what I borrowed plus interest.

Harrisburg Area Community College–Lancaster provides a wealth of information, instruction, and learning. Most students are very happy with their education and experience here. The majority of students would choose HACC all over again if they had to repeat their college years. Professors are an asset here, and very few students are disappointed with their teachers.
