Greek Life: Here at Harding we have Greek Social Clubs. I joined one this past semester and I am loving every minute of it. It is my second family.

Nightlife: If you want a school to party at, do not come to Harding. Here we come to school for a Christian Education and do not allow that kind of behavior.

Weather: The weather here is different every day! Arkansas humidity is pretty crazy. The summers are very hot and the winters are very cold. On the bright side, fall and spring time are absolutely amazing. The weather is always very nice during those seasons.

Off-Campus Dining: Searcy may not be the biggest town but we have tons of restaurants. There is plenty of variety when it comes to what you want to eat. We have Mexican, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Cajun, Italian, and many more. The cost differs from place to place, but I can usually get good food for a good price. A lot of local restaurants do offer student discounts which is a huge blessing.

Off-Campus Housing: There are many places in Searcy that offer off campus housing. There are many local apartments that are just off campus so people often just ride bikes to class. There are also many houses for rent in Searcy. I'm not sure about the cost but I know that they are affordable. A pro of living off campus is you don't have a curfew, and a con is you aren't involved as much in campus life.

Majors: I have not been in an internship here and I don't know if my major will call for one. I know that my senior year I will have to student teach for a semester and I am very excited about that. I want to be a teacher so bad and I cannot wait to learn more about it.

Majors: I love my program. I think that my major is a lot of fun and I can't wait for classes each semester. My career goals are to get a teaching job in or around Searcy so I can stay close to my family and really give back to the town I grew up in.

Parking: Parking can be difficult sometimes. Campus is rather small and there are a lot of people. Fines are about 30 dollars I believe, but if you have a parking permit then you will be fine.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: I think that the athletic teams do a great job of inviting everyone to their games. Harding does well in every sport, and we always have a good fan base. The coaches are super nice, and are very good at promoting school spirit.

Local Atmosphere: I love it here in Searcy. I was actually born here so I would love to graduate and get a job here.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: We have regular campus safety guys that will drive around campus on golf carts and pick people up to take them where they need to go.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: The computers here are outstanding. There are computer labs in all of the buildings so it is super easy to get ahold of one. We also have two Mac labs on campus. Printing is free but with some restrictions. There is free Wi-Fi all over campus so a personal computer can be used anywhere on campus.

Academics: I love it here at Harding. The teachers are great and the students are my family.

Off-Campus Dining: Filipino, Mexican, Greek, Alaskan dumplings, Searcy has its crop of unique dining selections. There are also plenty of home favorites, such as McDonald's Burger Kind, Sonic, etc. It is best to try all the family run restaurants. Huckleberry's Catfish Buffet, Frozen D's, and many other restaurants offer very unique dining experiences that you'll want to come back for.

Scholarships: As far as money goes, Harding does whatever it can to help each student that is actually serious about being here. Donations from all the alumni take about 1/3 off the cost for students to come here.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Although the security staff could use some more numbers, they do well for what they have. Not a lot happens around here, but they are pretty good and well equipped.

3 College Junior

Parking: I don't have a car, but I do see a lot of parking congestion happen. For incoming freshman, my recommendation is just to observe. Learn the flow of daily life on campus. Know what places to avoid and when and you should make it through swimmingly.

5 College Junior

Academics: I'm pretty sure I just talked about this, but as a Public Relations and Leadership & Ministry major, it's great! One of my professors use to work for the President of the United States! How cool is that?

4 College Junior

Majors: Compared to a huge state university, options are limited. You can't get a really focused degree, like a Bachelors in Arachnology, but most of our majors, particularly Business, Health Science, and Communication, are the best in the nation.

5 College Junior

Majors: I'm a Public Relations and Leadership & Ministry major. Let me simply say that the professors here at Harding are some of the best in the world. I don't know a single professor here who ISN'T turning down a high paying job at some state university to teach here instead. Professors here at Harding are here because that care about students, not some pay check. Professors here care more about your personal life, your goals, and where you fit in the world and in your relationship with God than some letter on a piece of paper (Although they are extremely helpful with that too).

3 College Junior

Transportation: Searcy is rather small, so we don;t really have much public transit to choose from. It's rather nice, since it means a big thing for friends to do is go on a Walmart run periodically, though I have always thought a trolley would be wonderful!

5 College Junior

Athletics: Considering our basketball court was named the #1 Road-trip Destination in College Basket Ball, i'd say it's pretty sweet! On top of that, our women's basket ball team was #2 in the nation. I don't follow sports enough to know many details, but I do know, as a pep band percussionists, the games are a must see!

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: There are many restrictions on drinking for all Harding students, faculty, and staff. Anyone discovered in the possession/consumption of alcohol pretty much get the boot from the campus. It is rather a relief to be free of that part of the "college experience". I have had WAY more fun sober than probably any wasted person has. On top of that, I can remember each experience, which is more than hangover-stricken party goers could say.

Although there are these restrictions, it still exists, just under the table. It is definitely not prominent enough that you're likely to encounter it.

3 College Junior

Weather: Searcy, and Arkansas in general, is very diverse in its weather at any time of the year. We had another ice storm the week before spring break, and now, two weeks after spring break, we are still seeing freezing temperatures. Then again, this entire winter season has been crazy for the entire U.S.

4 College Junior

Computers: Technology is never perfect. There have been a significant number of times where a fiber optic cable was cut many miles away, leaving the entire campus without internet for days (record was 3!). But it is nothing that any other campus couldn't potentially experience as well.
