Campus Strictness: Curfew for freshmans are beneficial; it teaches them to have patience, discipline, and time management. As far as visitation goes, it sucks. I feel that everyone should have open visitation throughout the week, during certain hours, if they still want to continue with the strict rules. I feel that we should have some of the privileges public schools have.. Which is a reason why most students at Hampton are rebellious because it feels like we are being treated like children.

College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I am not yet attending this college but I have heard many things from professors and current students that attend this school.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Our campus is very strict. We are a dry campus, so there is NO ALCOHOL at all on our campus. If caught with alcohol or drugs, you risk getting expelled. If you come back to your dorm drunk and you are noticed, you will also get in trouble. They have no tolerance for alcohol or drug use.

Campus Strictness: Hampton can be very strict but it's only to ensure the student's safety

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The administration is incredibly strict but there are ways to get around it. Parking in the wrong place at the wrong time will get you a ticket or towed, visitation is very strict for almost every dorm, and you will get in trouble for alcohol/drugs but probably not expelled unless it is a repeat offense or very large amount.

Hampton has a strict code of conduct and disciplinary precautions enforced to ensure the safety of its campus and to prevent its campus become a haven of wild twenty-somethings. The largest complaint pertains to the traffic of people coming on campus. While students appreciate the added protection, they become frustrated when trying to have visitors or simply getting dropped off on campus. With two entrances to the campus, one is only available after campus hours. Traffic thus builds up when the security gate questions each and every driver's reason for being on campus unless they have current on-campus decals. Hampton also has an intolerance to indecency and unprofessional attire. Guys are prohibited from wearing tanks and hats in the buildings, and it is against policy for young women to wear clothing that is too revealing. Recently, the administration amended the dress code, allowing some things to be worn that used to be off limits. The rules may seem overbearing when you first encounter them, but once you are comfortable in your matriculation, you become aware of what not to do and make the best of your experience. Hampton students always have had a reputation for their fashionable and stylish ways, and that's not likely to change anytime soon.
