3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The professors work with you when you have an emergency; they understand life happens.

College Senior

Online Courses: I don't take any online classes, so I am unsure about the experience.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: There could be more student resources. I understand we are in a rural area, but having an athletic center would be nice.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: The wi-fi network is pretty good. I haven't had any issues with it while I was on campus.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I love my program of study, I just wish others loved theirs enough not to disrupt the education of others.

3 College Senior

Facilities: The school itself is not a bad place, the people could grow up a little. The high school program that is located at the school should be separated from the college students because they are a distraction. They walk around campus yelling and acting up, our campus is rather small. There are also other students who come long enough just to collect the pell grant check, but disrupt others the whole time they are there.

College Senior

Career Services: After I graduated the first time I did not come back to school until I was getting into the nursing program, so I am unsure how the post-grad services are.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I wasn't able to get full financial aid because I worked up until August 2013 when the program started which I don't believe to be fair since I am not working anymore.

5 College Junior

Online Courses: I've only taken one online course at Halifax Community College which was ACA 118 and it was taught by my dental hygiene instructor. She is wonderful. My boyfriend is currently enrolled in online courses at Halifax Community College and he isn't so pleased with how it is going so far.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: The wireless internet works great and is fast. The library is kind of small.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Library is kind of small. Not too familiar with other activities the school has to offer. I am so busy in my program.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: My overall experience with the staff in the dental hygiene program at Halifax Community College has been outstanding. Each and every instructor has a passion for dental hygiene and loves teaching it. They are on top of their game; keeping up with grades in all. They are willing to spend the extra time if needed to make us dental hygiene students successful.
As far as the rest of the staff at Halifax Community College I am not so greatly familiar with. I have had minor issues with admissions before entering the program. My boyfriend has had several issues with his admissions process and instructors.

Student Body: The dental hygiene program this year consists of all females between the ages of 20-32. Most of us are from an area in NC, however, a couple commute from VA. As a group we tend to get a long very well with one another. We all have one thing in common, to become successful dental hygienist. This semester I only have dental courses, therefore I haven't met anyone outside of my program.

College Junior

Career Services: I am unsure about my career options after completing the dental hygiene program. We have had a speaker come talk to use about creating the perfect resume. But I am not overall familiar with the services the school offers.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The dental hygiene program is intense. Every week is exam week. But with a wonderful staff who are eager to teach you enjoy each and every minute of it.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The instructors in the dental hygiene program are awesome. Although, I can't say the same for the other instructors at the campus because I wasn't a student until starting the dental hygiene program.

3 College Junior

Facilities: I am currently a dental hygiene student at Halifax Community College. The staff within my program are wonderful. They are very helpful and on top of things. However, I can't say the same about the overall campus. I have ran into some issues with admissions, blackboard, etc.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My academic experience has been pretty good so far. I have been given the help I needed and the teachers I have had so far have done a good job at teaching their subjects and making it understandable.

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: The student body in my specific classes are decent for the most part because they are goal oriented. The overall student body is mediocre; it's almost like I'm back in high school.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Halifax Community College is a good place to be once you are in your career forward classes. When taking the general education classes, you have to deal with a lot because of the students who come just for refund checks. The technical degrees offered here are amazing and worth while.

2 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Currently my major is undecided. So far my classes or ok but they could be better.

1 College Senior

Student Body: Although the student population is diverse there are people there that are only there to disrupt others and collect a pell grant check. There is also a high school program on campus that causes distraction by the noise they make while walking around campus.

2 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education is worth the tuition, but in this rural area sometimes the tuition can be a burden especially when you are not receiving financial aid.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: In my major the workload is a heavy load, but it is expected. The professors are there to push us and guide us, although I wish sometimes they would slow down and explain things a little more thoroughly.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: There are many things with the school that need to be improved. Some of the professors truly feel like they want the students to succeed while others act as though they are only there for a paycheck.
