Overall Experience: I enjoy the school a lot. I am there to learn and I am getting an education that will allow me to continue my education successfully. I would choose it again because there are no TAs, it's affordable, and the credits transfer easily to the colleges I'm looking to go to in the next few months.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I'm the first student that the academic advisers I have spoken to that is a foreign language major at the school. So as a new experience to both I and the faculty which makes communication and clarity sometimes difficult.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Professors are great, the curriculum is followed and covers interesting and important contents. The workload is reasonable and the grading consistent and clear. I am not aware of any special study options, but they have a good free tutoring program and jobs available to the students.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I've never had any issues and the teachers have always been accommodating when emergencies have arissen but I've heard of instances that were out of student's control where the teacher was not very nice.

Campus Resources: We have an amazing gym and sports center. The tennis field is lacking and as a member of the HCC tennis team we were disappointed. The library and the technology centers are well equipped and maintained as well as the grounds. Community events and student events are often held on campus which is nice.

Campus Resources: The internet provider in our area is not the greatest and has a monopoly on the houses around it. The school has its own service so when my internet goes out the school is reliable. Printing on campus and the student center are well maintained and efficient.

College Junior

Career Services: A rating wouldn't be applicable because this is a community college so it is focused on transferring students to a larger school. From my knowledge they have very good ties with the local hospitals and community programs to allow internships in the medical fields.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial aid has been difficult but overall everything I have had to pay for has been explained and letters sent out showing what was owed, why and where the fees add up which was very nice.

4 College Junior

Facilities: The school is a large campus and very multicultural compared to the other schools in our area. The academic programs are great and my history professor is starting a history club for those of us who are going to be there next semester to explore more of the history we would like to know that wasn't covered in our basic 101 and 102 courses. This will be taking time out of her schedule to support our curiosity which is amazing.

Student Body: Teachers are incredible and knowledgeable. They are student oriented and dedicated to their jobs not only as teachers but also as advisers on how to survive the coming years and succeed in the future.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My experiance with the financial aid representatives wasnt good. Most of the time when I go in to ask questions or seek further information Im treated very rudely and with curt answers. not pleasent people.

Campus Resources: abundent resources. Always activities to do with student body

3 College Student

Campus Resources: The personal computers that we have are not up to par.

College Student

Online Courses: I have not taken any online courses yet.

3 College Student

Facilities: SGA is actively involved with the students always hosting activities and trips.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: I think with any major there is going to be a heavy workload. But with my specific major (Nursing) they have the resourses
I believe to make it easier to get through classes.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: There is a wide variety of classes to choose from.

3 College Student

Overall Experience: I really like that the school has the student support center. Depending on the subject your seeking help in there is always tutors availible and willing to help.

3 College Student

Student Body: The school is somewhat diverse. I know with activities hosted by the SGA they definitly have agood turnout.

4 College Student

Academic Flexibility: Most of the teachers are willing to work with you, which is amazing. I have a fulltime job and trying to balance that and school can be really overwhelming, but when I comunicated with my instructors they were able to help me out with some extensions which i was very gratful for.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: The indoor track is great. The student learning center are also very helpful.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: I've had NO problems with their service, except for certain classrooms slowing the Wi Fi connection.

3 College Junior

Student Body: I haven't had much interaction with other students, unless they are taking the same classes as myself. With that said, my interactions remain at a friendly level.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Not applicable. I prefer lecture classes over web base.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Overall I am somewhat satisfied with the facility. My only complaint would have to be the "reserved" parking spaces for staff. There seems to be an abundance for faculty parking and not enough for students.

Community college definitely has its perks. It's cheaper than a four-year school and is often a lot closer, offering a lot of the same courses students can apply to a degree if they transfer. Hagerstown Community College definitely helps students achieve both personal and academic goals. With a wide range of both credit and non-credit courses—including "skill-building" courses for personal enrichment—there is plenty to choose from. The school offers services such as the College for Kids, Teen Parent Program, and child care in the Children's Learning Center, making it easy for Junior to get in on the experience, too, while offering Mom and Dad a break.

HCC offers such a wide variety of classes that it makes it easy to pick the courses necessary for a degree or even for personal enrichment. This helps prepare students for a future career or to succeed even more at a current one. Professors are open to questions and suggestions, offering flexibility to accommodate students' needs and, often, extra credit coursework to make up for lost participation or assignment points.  While working on group projects can sometimes be difficult (since everyone lives off campus), the school has several locations on campus where groups can meet in between classes or over lunch. New renovations are underway that will make the campus even more accessible to students and help enrich their overall experience.
