3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Parties get shout down at 1:00 AM.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: The night life in Greensboro is amazing! There are a variety of options to do from the bar to the club to just walking around downtown.

2 College Student

Nightlife: The night life at Guilford is limited to the sports teams hosting the partys and usually they get blown up or shut down by one am. The night life is less about the big partys but more about some drinking or smoking with close friends.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Not too many options because it's a small school but I can usually find something fun if I'm looking or just go into Greensboro to a club

3 College Junior

Nightlife: The nightlife is decent. Its not exactly my scene but I usually have fun the rare times I go out. There are a lot of bars for 21+ in Greensboro and some closer bars and clubs that let underage people in. I've never been but I hear that the clubs and bars are good and people really enjoy them. Its just a big college scene at all of them with students from UNCG and Greensboro College and Guilford all partying together.

Campus parties are usually in the on campus apartments, theme houses and off campus at apartments. The parties are pretty good, but people aren't very generous with their alcohol unless you have a connection so basically everyone on campus pre-games and then goes around campus hitting all of the usual spots and hanging out and socializing.

Nightlife is a mixed bag—or perhaps a "grab bag"—in Greensboro. While the dance club scene is certainly lacking, the live music scene flourishes. There is a consistent group of devotees for most genres, and some appreciate all music that arises out of North Carolina. You may realize after a couple shows that you recognize some of those indie rockers from the last show, although it all tends to blend together after late nights in dark, crowded venues. Most shows are under $10 or even free, so you can enjoy a cheap night out if you don't drink too much. Many Guilford students tell tales of sketchy incidents in clubs and bars, so if you are going out somewhere for the first time, be careful and go with others if possible. The bars are certainly more social than clubs, but they are better suited for those who feel the need to drink in public. Meanwhile, you can keep yourself fairly entertained by socializing on campus. Parties on campus are very personable and small in comparison to large university frat parties. Students shouldn't feel restricted from going to parties, even if they are uninvited. Guilford students rarely seem to be bothered by class differences.

Serendipity is the big party and entertainment weekend at Guilford in the spring. When the drinking age was 18, back when Serendipity began, the school used to buy mountains of kegs for the students. Although Serendipity is still a college-funded event, alas, there is no longer any school-sponsored drinking. There is a carnival full of games, inflated things, picnics, dances, parties, games, concerts, a huge bonfire, and general revelry all around campus. People are entranced and delighted all weekend in many different ways. It is a wonderful tradition that you may just have to experience for yourself.

Red Oak Brewery

Right across the street from campus, Red Oak has become a place to celebrate for Guilford students. Exhausted upperclassmen can be found here after exams or midterms taking a bit of time to de-stress. Red Oak's on-site brewery produces many different kinds of beer, including some dark brews. Although it might be a bit more expensive than picking up a six pack, Red Oak's high quality makes up for the difference. The atmosphere is dark and personal, allowing groups to be a bit loud and still have privacy.
