3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: As long as you aren't being destructive or openly breaking rules, no one will bother you or say anything against it. Guilford is very open to everyone being themselves!

4 College Student

Campus Strictness: Guilford is a good campus they are strict about the right things (besides parking..) and the campus feels very safe due to that.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Not too strict or too lenient

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: My school is very strict on the Honor code they make it known that consequences will occur if caught cheating. They also are big on parking which you will be fine if not in the right spot. Not to mention drugs/ alcohol if caught there is a judicial hearing you must attend with consequences.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: They pick and choose the wrong things to be strict about and must reevaluate what other areas they need to be strict about. Such as the problem with drugs, as well as vandalism in parking lots.

Security at GuilCo has become increasingly strict, mostly due to Campus Life. Some students feel that they are becoming overbearing and annoying. In recent years, parties of any kind have been banned on campus. As for individual violations of the rules, your risk of getting caught depends on your own discretion and situation. RAs, location, and bad luck are all factors in who ends up on probation or fined. Be reasonable. If you are somehow causing a disturbance to others, security is more likely to pay attention to what you are doing. However, if you stay in your room and are considerate, you can essentially do whatever you like. Security is present, and you may be caught if you wander around campus doing something you’re not supposed to be doing. Another change has been the implication of high fines for alcohol and drug offenses. This increases the exclusive nature of those who do partake in these activities, but they have certainly not decreased.

Lately, Residential Life has become more invasive and has basically given itself free reign to search your room at any time without much, if any, warning. There are regular searches of unspecified dorms during any break when most students are off campus. In general, be smart and cautious, and don’t give "the man" an easy opportunity to bust you.
