3 College Freshman

Transportation: We do have Campus security take students to the store or the doctor/hospital. There are a few Hertz cars as well that aren't very expensive. There is no public transportation.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: With a lot of international students transportation is an issue that the college has addressed well. Around breaks there are always rides to the airport. There is a system of ride sharing. Even just for around town people are willing to take you to wal mart of where ever you need to go.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: I have never really needed transportation from the school but for other people, it is fairly easy to get around. The school provide shuttles to places and free rides around the town if needed.

3 College Junior

Transportation: It's a bitch to get out to Grinnell when you're coming from the east coast, but it's worth it. When it comes to transportation within campus, get yourself a bike or just enjoy strolling around the campus

2 College Junior

Transportation: Residential Campus – there is no need for a car or even a bike. Classes and dining options are all walking distance

Currently, both on campus and in the town of Grinnell, there are no public transportation stops or facilities. There really isn’t any need for them, since it takes about five to 10 minutes to walk from one end of campus to the other, and 20 or 30 minutes to bike out of town. However, there are plans to revive the fondly-remembered-but-unsuccessful Campus Bikes program. These bikes used to be designated by a thin coat of orange spray paint. They were unlocked and available for public use all over campus. Unfortunately, they were quickly trashed, but the campus has decided to bring them back using better, less fragile bikes.

As for transportation to and from Grinnell, Greyhound stops are not available in the town of Grinnell, but they are prevalent in Des Moines. However, most students who live more than a state away fly into the Des Moines International Airport and take the shuttle for $20, courtesy of the security department, to Grinnell. Shuttles also go to and from the Minneapolis and Chicago airports each break. If students have an emergency and need a ride out to the Des Moines airport in the middle of the year, arrangements can be made with the security department.
