4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The staff helped me decide what I want to do with my career and helped show me different aspects of choices I could choose form.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: They did not have a great variety of courses to take, but classes that you received were pretty much guaranteed to help you in the long run.

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I would definitely would not go back to Aquinas college. The education system was not very diverse, and the environment made me feel like I was not at home and could not be myself.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: It had a good career center, and the administration was very helpful on advancing me through my career options.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: It was great and very easy to receive. They offered great scholarships and grants that helped a lot.

2 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The online courses were not explained very but, and the professors were harder to get ahold of.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: They had a very limited amount of courses to choose from. Most professors were helpful, but some did not care at all.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The have a great alumni network, decent internship prospects, and had good criteria you needed to fulfill your career dreams.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: People are not very understanding of others, gossip a lot, and are very judgemental. I try to help others realize that and open up more, but it did not really see through to them.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The staff and teachers there are very helpful and care about your education and how you are doing. They provide free tutoring and have helpful materials that help meet your needs.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: I had just ended my first freshmen year at Aquinas College. I was going through a lot at the time so I took a break after finishing a few classes, so I did not complete my freshmen year. I did not like the school very much because people were not very accepting of others. I got along with a lot of them, but they were not the type to be real friends or to keep in the long run. The good thing about it was it had all kinds of clubs that were extremely unbias, dynamic, and various interests that can apply to all people. The majority of the students were very hard working. I plan on transferring to another school in the fall to further my career and have a better experience.

Academic Flexibility: They are very willing to work with you, if you will meet them in the middle

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: One of my best experiences at my school is that when you get that one professor(s) who really believes in my goals, and they would go above and beyond to help me succeed in my journey.

Career Services: GRCC makes it easy to transfer to other colleges. It is a very simple process to send your transcript to another school. Most of the classes transfer. GRCC also helps people with employment.

3 College Senior

Student Body: The student body is fairly diverse. It is difficult to get to know anyone if you aren't outgoing and don't join any clubs though.

3 College Senior

Facilities: The facilities are pretty good. The newer buildings are great and have a lot of places to study and hangout. They are currently renovating some of the older buildings. What sets GRCC apart form other schools is that it is located in the heart of Grand Rapids and so has the benefits of being near many museums and other institutions. The museums are free to GRCC students. GRCC also has many different clubs and opportunities to get involved.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: For the most part GRCC does pretty well for overall academic experience. However, classes tend to vary way to much in workload and difficulty. In the case of the biology classes at GRCC, it varies depending on who the professor is. The classes are not too hard, but people should allow time in their schedules for labs as well as study time. GRCC has a nice science building with several labs including a cadaver lab. They also have great equipment which is surprising because it is a community college. Being located near several hospitals allows for great support for those going into the healthcare industry.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: The professors at GRCC vary in their performance. Some care more about teaching than others and so do a better job, but they also tend to be harder. I also found that online classes are basically self-taught. The professors offer little input and the discussions aren't guided in anyway. On campus classes are much better. Class registration is fairly easy, but a spot in a particular class is easier to get if you register early.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: I haven't used the campus resources, but most people I talk to say their great.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: There is only one computer lab and that's in the library. The wifi works well for the most part except for in the science building where the connection is slow. Wifi is available in all of the buildings so you're never disconnected. The printing is fairly cheap, but make sure that you are printing your own stuff.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: GRCC is a great start. It's affordable and most general classes transfer. However, some classes do not transfer to four year institutions. I would recommend anyone going on to a four year college to complete the MACRAO agreement at GRCC to save time and money and get their general classes out of the way.
