Guys & Girls: There is still more girls than guys at the school.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are practically no single, attractive, boys at Goucher that I'm interested in.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There's a lot of variety to all Goucher students, girls and guys alike. There are hipsters, preps, geeks, athletes, artists, partiers, home-bodies, internationals; you name it, we probably have a few. And most people fit several of those descriptions. Everyone takes interest in everything, and it's very easy to have conversations with strangers. Not everyone comes straight out of a magazine, but we don't emerge from the sewers either. It's difficult to describe. Goucher is Goucher.

Guys & Girls: Selection is slim when it comes to guys. It's hard with it being such a small campus not to date someone that one of your friends has dated. I think that Goucher does attract a certain kind of person and I like that type. The deeply driven though private about it kind of people. If that's your type, you'll find them here. However, you'll have to look.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: As a heterosexual male, I love it here at Goucher! I think, if I have my stats right, the student body is 70% female. That's wonderful. There are a lot of really attractive people here at Goucher, both male and female, and all different types of people, which is also nice.

There is a very large LGBT community here, and it's often just sort of assumed that men who are not lax bros are gay until proven otherwise, which is annoying at first, but irrelevant once everyone gets to know eachother.

I think because of the male:female ratio, people just assume there's like 3 guys here. That's not the case at all. There's plenty of straight men here for the ladies, and I think the lack-of-guys thing is really overstated.

There is a high female-to-male ratio at Goucher. Often, this means straight women are forced to look off campus for hookups and relationships because any word of romance on campus gets around quickly.

On that note, Goucher is also a safe, accepting place for people of all sexual identities and preferences. A range of contraceptives, as well as free STD testing, is available at Health Services, and there are no restrictions about having members of the opposite sex stay the night in your dorm room.

Social Scene
Goucher College is not a big state school. If you want to be involved in the social scene, you have to leave your room and search for it. Otherwise, student interaction outside of one's social circle is usually limited to class and extracurricular activities. On weekends, students like to go to the bars in Towson, clubs in Baltimore, or just to a movie down the street or dinner with friends. There are also the options of checking out on-campus and off-campus parties; however, on-campus parties are often limited to a small group of students hanging out and drinking in a dorm room. Occasionally, parties will spread into the hall and neighboring rooms, but that just increases the likelihood of Public Safety busting them.
Hookups or Relationships?
Goucher is a small school, so any hookups or relationships typically become public knowledge rather quickly. By the end of four years, it becomes nearly impossible to find someone who hasn't been involved with someone you will know, inspiring many upperclassmen to find and meet partners off campus and at nearby schools.
Dress Code
During the day, most students dress casually with jeans and T-shirts. While plenty of students look like they just stepped out of a fashion magazine, others tend to look like they just rolled out of bed.
