1 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Think you're going to find your wife in college? Good luck. The girls here flat out blow. Ugly, but they think they're all dimes. Nope. You have no sense of style, most have never heard of a gym, they're all waiting till marriage, and if you do date a girl it's a rule you have to hang out with them 24/7.

Sure I've had several hook ups, but it's never a one night thing. You'll become their constant obsession, and everyone on campus will know about it. So then you'll get a reputation, and so on.

I JUST WANT TO HOOK UP WITH A GIRL AND FOR ONCE NOT HAVE 50 DIFFERENT PEOPLE ASKING ME ABOUT IT THE NEXT DAY.

Facilities: KOSC and Chase are really the only nice and new buildings on campus worth your while. Try to avoid classes in jenks.

1 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Non existent. If you're lucky enough to be a "cool kid" and party off campus, the party will most likely get broken up within 30-45 minutes of when it actually starts to get fun.

ALL I WANT TO DO IS FREAKING RAGE IN PEACE, but I can't. So i'll just continue sitting here, alone in my room, sipping on this bottle of jack, until I forget about how lame Gordon is.

1 College Sophomore

Computers: The campus wifi absolutely blows. I keep my iPhone of 4G because it's 10 times faster. The wifi on laptops is so unreliable and so slow. You will average anywhere from 2-5 mb/s.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I do not receive any financial aid, but I know a lot of my friends have received decent packages from the school.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I could probably go on for days about how facetious the rules on campus are, but I'll keep it short and simple. It sucks. No fun. You are treated like a middle schooler. 3:30pm on a Monday and want to study with your friend before a big test that afternoon in your dorm? NOPE. Obviously studying is a guise for sex so you can't be in anyone of the opposite sex's dorm.

When you visit during visitation the door has to be open, lights on, feet ON THE FLOOR.

Drinking? If you are caught it is literally treated like you are in possession of meth.

No Fun School. Bedtime's at 11pm, SHARP!

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The problem for most students who want to live off campus is the cost. Myself and three friends are living off campus, and due to the area being very upscale we will be paying about $1000 each in rent for a 4 bedroom house. So the houses are nice, but a lot of students aren't down for paying that much.

Also a lot of students have to live in Gloucester or Rockport which is a good 15-20 minute drive away, and that could be a nuisance to a lot of people.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Unless you plan on interning at a church you really don't have a lot of opportunities that are offered. You really have to go out and find one your self.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Love the economics and business department. It's the one shining light at the end of this bleak tunnel that is Gordon College. Professor Smith is the bomb.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: Most students don't care about the athletics department, and the same goes for the school administration. It's as if the school doesn't realize how many students sports brings in and retains. The varsity teams receive very little funding compared to other schools just like us. Look at Endicott, they started putting a decent amount of money into their athletics and now they are one of the premier athletic programs in the region.

The facilities are absolutely outdated and way to small. Want to work out in the gym? Good luck. There is only one weight gym, and it is very small. If you work out while a team is doing their lifts and such you will most likely not find a machine available and will be subject to working your way around people to get from one area to the next.

Want to work out from 8am-9am MWF? Nope they have a class of 12 people who need the entire gym apparently, and they kick everyone out. It's a joke.

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: Aww man. Screw ALANA and all the social issue groups. Everyone here wants to feel as if they're victimized and that race and gender issues are a huge issue here. The fact is no one gives a crap if you're black, hispanic, asian, or a women. Everyone is respectful to each other, and everyone is nice regardless of any race, gender, or cultural background. Unless you are a white male. White males are the only oppressed group on campus. You will be shamed, and accused of a million different things.

If you're a white male you obviously don't care about womens rights, you are entitled and come from a privileged background, you are oppressive and show no empathy towards women and persons of color, and you are solely responsible for slavery.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: A good amount of people partake in the use of cannabis. It's really not that big of deal. I don't think people force other people too, but it's college so why not? Also a lot of students come from sheltered upbringings and are completely oblivious to people using it or walking around campus high.

Most students on campus have participated in some sort of alcoholic consumption. It's not that big of deal, just don't let the old hags in the administration find out. There are also some students who act like 3 year olds are report other students who they think were drinking. This is college, people will drink, it's not a big deal, get over yourselves and mind your own business.

1 College Sophomore

Transportation: Don't make the mistake I did and not have a car on campus for freshman year or you will be completely bored out of your mind. There is nothing in walking distance, and the campus shuttle that does exist goes to the grocery store and a train stop... woo hoo. If you don't have a car you will have a horrible year.

College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I mean sure we are a safe school, but that's because we are located in the middle of nowhere. Campus safety is kind of a joke, and the fact that they are now carrying guns? That's just completely unnecessary.

The health centers hours stink, so don't get sick unless it's between the hours of 10am-3pm

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Closest place you'll find off campus dining is 10 miles down route 128, and the McDonalds is the only place open past 11pm.

1 College Sophomore

Weather: Hate it, hate it, hate it. It was 77 on monday, and tomorrow (wednesday) it's going to be below freezing. By the way... IT'S FREAKING APRIL AND IT'S GOING TO BE BELOW FREEZING.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Workload sucks, but I appreciate the business department. Most other fields are underfunded and opportunities after college are limited.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Most of the dorms are very old, and the rules blow. Thinking about switching dorms after being stuck in a crappy dorm freshman year? Good luck! They block of most rooms for the incoming freshman and then they have this stupid lottery process which gives the 1 or 2 available dorms in the nice dorms to the seniors living on campus, so you'll most likely end up in a crappier dorm if you don't squat your already lousy dorm.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are no fraternities or sororities at all, so this doesn't really apply.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Overall, Gordon is pretty homogeneous. It is a majority white population, with more females than males, and many people who would say that they lean more right than left. However, within the Christian faith, there is a great amount of diversity of beliefs, which makes for great discussions within the student body.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: We have a shuttle that goes to the local train station and various shopping centers several times a day, but the times are a bit odd and sometimes the shuttle will be too full to carry everyone that needs to use it. However, it is free and fairly reliable within its own schedule.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Gordon has been reviewed as one of the top 10 safest colleges in the U.S., and it is definitely felt on campus. We rarely have issues, and if we do, they come from the outside community and are resolved quickly.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Some of the school rules (like visitation) are a bit stifling, especially if you're someone who would just like to visit a friend but can't because of the time of day. However, the campus officers are incredibly kind and work hard to make Gordon one of the safest campuses in the nation.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports aren't really a big deal at Gordon, but there is certainly a sense of unity within each team. Intramurals are generally fun and easy to be involved in, and the athletic center is accessible to all students, generally between the hours of 5 am and 11 pm.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I am a music major, and am overall very happy with the program. If I had to choose schools again, I would definitely choose Gordon.
