Campus Dining: The food is okay. It's pretty average college food. It is not terrible because they have a fro-yo machine, buffalo chicken pizza, and strawberries with frosting. Those 3 items make Gordon's dining so much better than other places.

College Junior

Nightlife: I do not drink nor do I have a knowledge about the local night life. I do know that we are within an hour of Boston and that some people go there when they want to have a night out.

Local Atmosphere: The north shore of Boston is a great place for college students and recent college grads. "Cape Anne" as it is called, has many beaches and attractions for students to visit. There is one beach that is within an 8 minute drive of campus and then 2 other beaches are within a 15 minute drive.

Athletics: The athletic department continues to grow and thrive each year as more and more students attend Gordon. Sometimes there is more hype for the bigger sports though, and athletes for sports like swimming or track and field sometimes get forgotten.

Health & Safety: Gordon college was rated the safest campus in the nation. The campus police are great and make sure that crime is not an issue. The residence life program also provides a place of safety for people who feel emotionally or mentally unsafe.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It's pretty straight forward. The main thing is that the scholarships are pretty sporadic. The 2 best scholarships are one that covers about 45% of tuition and then the next one jumps up to cover all of it. The financial office is very helpful throughout this process.

Campus Strictness: Gordon is a dry campus, which means there are no drugs or alcohol allowed on the campus. There is no required curfew which distinguishes Gordon from other Christian colleges. They expect you to go to class but your RA is not going to be breathing down your neck making sure you get to class. You are treated like an adult and are expected to adhere to the community standard for conduct.

Off-Campus Dining: Within a ten minute drive of Gordon, there are a number of restaurants located in a plaza off of the highway. Plus if you drive another 3 minutes further than that there are a number of small town restaurants that serve fantastic food. There are also lots of small "mom & pop" places around the area within a ten minute drive.

Facilities: Gordon College is arguably the most beautiful campus in New England. When all the trees are in full bloom, the campus looks magical. There are some great annual traditions for students including a film festival, a talent show, and a comedy competition between nominees from each class.

Academics: I have enjoyed the classes that I have taken specifically for my major. The courses have been very insightful and highly educational.

Majors: I have only had an introduction to Education so far but it has been worth while. The faculty is very encouraging and helpful when insight is need concerning different aspects of the field. The courses that I have had to take have been beneficial. I've been able to go into classrooms and observe and get a stronger feel for the direction i want to head.

4 College Freshman

Majors: As I enter an internship I know that I am working with a group of people who are very like-minded and have a set goal in mind. The time commitment, responsibilities and pay are very reasonable.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Campus is absolutely beautiful. The buildings are well kept. There is always something to participate in on campus. Events cover many different interests. The environment on campus is warm and welcoming.

Computers: At times the network is slow or can crash at random times but overall there are accessible computers for students to use. Printing jobs can also be done from any computer which is very helpful to just swing by the library, grab a paper, and go. The computers are more up to date and not very outdated. Tech support is highly knowledgeable, understanding, and helpful.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: From some of the games that I have attended, not many students come out to support our teams. Incentives get a crowd there but genuine school spirit is not present. The administration and faculty does a great job of supporting, spreading the word and keeping everyone updated on how our teams are doing.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I love living on campus. You get to know a lot of people and learn to live on your own yet being around people it s a good transition into being an adult and getting your own place once you are out of college and truly living on our own.
