Overall Experience: I love my school. The classes are supposed to be tough. It is not the school's fault I work full-time and life happens. The professors are most often helpful. The classroom sizes are usually good, occasionally the classes are large. The classes are appropriate to the majors ordered. They could boost the variety of electives offered.

Overall Experience: I have heard nothing but good things about students from Goodwin College out in the work world.

Academic Flexibility: You have to take 12 credits before they will officially look at your transfers and like my situation. since I am pre-nursing, I will have to wait until I am accepted into the program before certain credits can be agreed upon.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have gone over and around with this college about financial aide. Last semester they offered it though I had not asked for it and I took it and paid off other bills with the money I had saved. 3 days after semester closed, my extremely inarticulate and unprofessional financial aide councilor denied me 3 classes worth of financial aide (over $6,000). After talking to her supervisor who was eventually helpful, I now have until August to pay for last semester and I suddenly after paying back student loans slowly for 20 years have found an extra $4,000 that was never billed to me and I am clearing up another $8,000 from my last school when I was not even a student. Financial Aide has not been terribly helpful with any of this at any school I have attended and I have been paying out of my pocket for the last 6 years, making that much longer until I can reach my goal.

Career Services: From a pre-nursing associates candidate, I am now fulfilling requirements (non-nursing) towards my bachelor's and will be able to immediately transition from one to the other while earning more money.

Overall Experience: My professors have really taken notice of who each student is and their past that can drive their learning or sharing with others. Several of my courses have been intense 7 1/2 week courses and even then, the professors get to know you quickly. I had even sent in by accident a rough draft and the teacher caught it and immediately e-mailed my mistake to me, already knowing after 3 weeks of class that my regular work, never mind this research paper was written more formally than what I had turned in. Now that is attention to detail!

Overall Experience: I will have a chance to work within several hospital settings and within several different facets of nursing. I am already employed at a small country hospital and this will give me big city hospital experience.

Campus Resources: There are both on-line and on-campus activities that also include the family as this college is geared towards business professionals and career minded parents. The library information can be accessed off-campus and all professors can be accessed by phone, on-line or office hours.

Online Courses: The online courses are extremely flexible. The lesson plan is laid out on a "work at your own pace" format. As long as that week's assignment is turned in by the due date, then the student can complete the work and lectures at their own pace, on their own time. There are discussion groups so the students stay engaged and can help further their understanding of the material. The instructors post frequent comments in the discussion groups to help enhance the class's learning and to promote more in-depth thinking of that week's lesson plan.

Student Body: The student body at Goodwin College is very diverse. This is a college designed to help working adults who have families and are trying to complete a college degree. The school has a very supportive atmosphere and everyone is very kind and helpful towards each other. The degree plans laid out for students is easy to follow and a multitude of ways for students to complete courses. Classes can be taken on campus, online, or in a hybrid format. This flexibility makes it more encouraging for students to stay in their program and finish college. There is an abundance of extra-curricular activities that students can choose to get involved in. There is also a program for Ghanaian students to come study here and have a chance to get a good education so that their home nation may benefit.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My experience with financial aid was quite confusing and advisors do not explain your limits to maximum to finances until its too late. I was very disappointed when was unable to finish my education with the lack of financial assistance its like i was handed, saw my future in my hand it was taken away right before my eyes.
