Overall Experience at Globe University - La Crosse: All in all, I'm very satisfied with my education at Globe. I learned many great skills and qualities that are necessary for a career in my program. The hands-on experience and the externship were absolutely invaluable and if I ever need to refresh any of my skills I am able to do so free of charge. One of the best things about Globe is that the Career Services Center is available to every alum forever.

Overall Experience at Globe University - La Crosse: It depends on the area in which you are able to get a job. In a small market like La Crosse, there are many veterinary clinics and animal hospitals in the region, but positions open up so few and far between. When positions do become available, competition for them is absolutely fierce, and the most experienced/qualified will always get the job. They all want experienced technicians, but it's hard to get that experience if none of the employers are willing to take a chance on a fresh newbie.

Campus Resources at Globe University - La Crosse: The only available resources on campus are the Career Services Center and the Library. The university is a career college, dedicating to getting the students in, graduated, and on with their lives in as timely a manner as possible. They do not rush the students, however. They are aware that every student learns differently and some learn faster than others. There are tutors on campus (both instructor-led and student-led) available if extra help is required. The university staff wants to ensure the success of their graduates, not just get them graduated and wash their hands of them.

Career Services at Globe University - La Crosse: Carolyn Moe was an amazing coordinator. She kept on top of all of the available openings for all of the programs she was responsible for, including veterinary technology. She is my go-to gal for whenever I need assistance in updating my resume or a field-specific job hunt. She was incredible when it came to preparing for interviews and submitting applications, and even proper interview wardrobe advice. She really knows what it takes to succeed, and she dedicates herself to every student in the programs she's responsible for.

Academic Flexibility at Globe University - La Crosse: In order for me to attend classes I actually had to quit my full-time job. The variability of the courses required for the degree made obtaining part-time work very difficult as the class times changed every 3 months. None of the credits I had taken at previous colleges transferred even though several attempts were made to get them transferred.

Online Courses at Globe University - La Crosse: I chose to not take online classes, as I felt i was not a reliable enough student to keep up with the coursework.

Student Body at Globe University - La Crosse: Globe University welcomes students of all walks of life. Anyone wanting to better themselves and their situations are strongly encouraged to attend Globe because they have programs that suit most needs/lifestyles.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Globe University - La Crosse: It was up to the student to find their own way to pay for the education. The Financial Aid office went over the FAFSA form to see if we qualified for government aid (Stafford loans, etc) but didn't go into anything outside of government assistance (which I didn't qualify for), and didn't really give the students direction on where to find information for scholarships, etc.

Academic Experience at Globe University - La Crosse: The Vet Tech program at Globe is a top-notch program. 70% of the course work is hands-on, and the university supports the local rescue shelters by allowing adoptable animals to spend a week on campus so the students can learn how to perform various clinical, diagnostic and surgical procedures in a real-world/classroom environment. The instructors are professionals in the field (including three veterinarians on staff) and did everything they could to prepare their students for a career in veterinary medicine.

Academic Experience at Globe University - La Crosse: The academics were just okay. There were a number of things that I would like to have learned as a student that were either glossed over or not even touched on that I encountered on my externship. The externship program was awesome. We students were required to fill 270 hours of coursework at a veterinary clinic getting real-world hands-on experience in a clinical environment. I would have liked to spend more time covering the nutrition aspects of the curriculum during our Nutrition/Nursing Skills course, but it was 70% nursing/30% nutrition. And all we did was discuss the basics. We didn't even get into any real-world applications.

Online Courses at Globe University - Wausau: I've only taken one online class, and to be honest, it was Communications, which is a class that I don't think should be offered online.

Campus Resources at Globe University - Wausau: The best resource on campus is the library. It's full of books that have the best information in regards to the degrees offered and the librarian is very knowledgeable in regards to helping find books, showing you how to site sources and helping you figure out how to write important class papers.

Campus Resources at Globe University - Wausau: The biggest problem with the network is how slow the Campus Connect is. There are more than enough computer labs for the campus and everyone is given a personal tablet to use as a requirement for classes.

Student Body at Globe University - Wausau: The students work hard at the school and a lot of the clubs set up fundraisers for causes outside of the school itself.

Overall Experience at Globe University - Wausau: I've had my academic adviser work with me on my schedule, the teachers are all reasonable and teach their subjects in a manner that makes it worthwhile to learn. I love that the Massage Therapy program is actually a hands on experience and not just a set of lecture classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Globe University - Wausau: If you can't get an outside loan due to credit issues, the school has a loan system that you can go through that has reasonable payment plans so that you can continue with your education.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility at Globe University - Wausau: They work the best they can to make sure that they can fit around your schedule, even if you're working full time.

Academic Experience at Globe University - Wausau: The Massage Therapy course even for just a diploma is very thorough and makes sure you know all of the basics that you need to know for your National Exam and for your future job. You can take which class interests you the most and get continuing education on that subject in order to be able to specialize in your field.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience at Globe University - Wausau: The staff make the registration process as easy as possible. They have a financial adviser on hand to help you with your financial situation and help you to figure out how to pay for classes. The teachers actually care about teaching you the subject matter, the amount of homework given is always reasonable and they have a specific set up for tutoring in multiple subjects.

5 College Senior

Facilities at Globe University - Wausau: The classes at Globe are small enough that the teachers can actually make sure that every student understands the course materials and there are no classes to be taken that don't pertain to your degree of choice. The library is stocked with all of the best information and the librarian is amazing help with sources and information that you can't find. The staff is friendly and the teachers are dedicated to actually teaching their students.

Online Courses at Globe University - La Crosse: Online courses are a great companion to traditional classes, and make each program flexible enough to suit nearly any schedule.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience at Globe University - La Crosse: I have had a great overall experience with Globe so far. Yes, I have hit a few snags, but the staff has worked with me to get through them and move forward with my educational goals.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility at Globe University - La Crosse: I transferred in credits from other colleges, and the process was very easy. Staff was attentive and allowed me to transfer in the vast majority of credits I earned elsewhere.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid at Globe University - La Crosse: Financial Aid is abundant, and the staff do everything they can to make sure each student's individual needs are addressed.

College Junior

Student Body at Globe University - La Crosse: I do not believe it is possible to rate the levels of acceptance of diversity within the student body. Globe is a career college, and the vast majority of the students are non-traditional.
