Campus Dining: The College does a pretty good job providing different food options for students. As a First year student, your options are a little bit more limited in terms of where you can eat with your meal plan, but after that the meal plan options are much more flexible. The college, as well as the four eateries on campus, has a deal with a local restaurant (Flats) to accept declining dollars as a form of payment.

Campus Dining: Not the greatest food but its decent

Campus Dining: I love Servo (campus cafeteria)! The food cafes (the Bullet Hole, Ike's, and the Dive) provide a variety of options. The Commons cafe serves Starbucks coffee and tea.

For the first year of your career at Gettysburg, you will eat at Servo. Almost always. The consensus at G'burg agrees on two things: 1) the food here is better than at the majority of other colleges, and 2) chances are, your tastebuds will not be disappointed. The importance of food quality at a college is something that's easy to overlook when deciding where to go, but something that really should be a crucial element of a student's selection process. At a small school with few dining options, not liking the food can really (and quite literally) sour the entire college experience.

At Gettysburg, food is not a problem. The quality, and to an extent the selection, tends to be quite good, with occasional peaks of delicious. Of course, while Servo is the main dining establishment, two other options exist. Ike's, despite the sometimes inconvenient hours, provides the key option of Mexican dining, while the Bullet Hole represents Gettysburg's fast food alternative. The subs are made to order, and there are almost always two soups of the day and an entrée if you prefer something hot. The Bullet Hole is very popular among students on the go, and it allows you to either use meals from your card or spend dollars that are added as part of your meal plan.

Did You Know?
  • Many students, particularly underclassmen, tend to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Servo, mostly due to a meal plan known as the USA plan which allows near-unlimited, 1,000 meals a semester, access.
  • Gettysburg dining has been consistently ranked in the top 20 among university food services in the country by national academic syndicates, and is a source of particular pride among GC students.
