College Freshman

Online Courses: Have not taken any online courses

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The experience of being able to ask a teacher for help is better than having to learn it on my own.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Online classes tend to require more work to complete, but they aren't much more difficult than the on campus classes.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: For a first time taking online courses, I think it's okay. The class size is appropriate and allows one to easily create a professor/student relationship. However, online classes require a little bit more effort than traditional classrooms. One has to make sure he/she logs in at least three times a week to read the weekly course content, ask questions if necessary, start on the work and be able to submit it by the deadline.

College Junior

Online Courses: I have never enrolled in an online class.

Online classes are good for students with great discipline and a manageable work schedule. GPC uses iCollege to connect students with professors. The Web site provides online tests, study guides, connections between students, and the iChat system. Online courses cost the same as normal classes, but they are completed on your time.

Facts & Statistics

Required Tech Skills
You need to be reasonably tech savvy to take online courses at GPC. It isn't too hard, but it does require self-motivation and initiative.
Typical Online Lecture - Single Day
Online class teachers have less interaction with students, but they still make time to answer questions and encourage student discussions. Students generally come to "class" prepared to discuss the assigned readings online via forums and chats.
Online Testing & Grading
The professors have different ways of testing online. Sometimes professors will do exams online with time limits, and others require you to come to campus to take tests. Students are evaluated based on tests, quizzes, projects/homework, and participation.
