Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

If you ask any student about their experience at GCSU, it is sure to be a positive one. If they had to choose Georgia College and State University all over again, most students would make the same decision. You are never going to feel like a number at the University, and the professors treat students with respect and honesty. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and having almost everything within walking distance is a major benefit. Plus, nightlife is not limited to upperclassman students, as you only have to be 18 to get into any of the bars downtown (still 21 to drink, though).

Georgia College does a great job of preparing students for the “real world” through high-level classes, mock interviews, career fairs, and all of the other various opportunities the University Career Center offers. Choosing GCSU guarantees a small-town feel, a variety of new friendships, opportunities to join more than 160 organizations, and an overall great college experience.

Off-Campus Dining: The options are prtty much the same. Fast-food.

College Senior

Academics: I have just recently changed my major and have not gotten into the meat of the program yet. I am still finishing up my core classes.

Academics: The registration process was a bit hectic because I didn't have much help. But it wasn't difficult. The workload that I usually take on is right up under a full load (3 classes). I couldn't imagine taking on 1 or more extra classes on top of that. But that is due to my individual circumstances. The curriculum is not particularly difficult and the professors are very helpful in getting you through the classes.

Facilities: I have only been to the recreation center and the library and those are phenomenal centers.

Health & Safety: I'm sure that we as college students on this campus are secure. However, I cannot say that I have particularly observed instances in which I have felt abolutely sure that I am safe and secure here.
