Local Atmosphere: There isn't a whole lot of things to do here. I've lived here my whole life so that may make a difference in my opinion. There is a small mall here that doesn't have much of a variety of stores for college students. There are quite a few dining places here in town and thats great. Its just a small town with a small town feel.

Local Atmosphere: The city of Atlanta is a great place to be for city goers. The nightlife is pretty active, and the restaurants surrounding campus are good eating. The parks are great, and the local transportation is always convenient.

Local Atmosphere: Great college town. Big enough for things to do and places to visit, but small enough for small-town people like me.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: its near Athens so its convenient

Local Atmosphere: It is a small town, but it is comfortable and peaceful. I am a small-town type of person, so it fits just fine. There a plenty of places to go and things to do- bowling, skating, shopping, restaurants, clubs, etc.

Although Milledgeville is a small town, students find plenty to keep them occupied. The variety of unique restaurants and bars downtown gives students a cozy environment for hanging out with friends. Some Milledgeville area events include Andalusia Farm self-guided tours (which was a source of many of Flannery O'Connor's works), the Deep Roots Festival, and haunted trolley tours around Halloween. Milledgeville is known as "The First Lady of Georgia" because for a time (around the Civil War), it was the capital of the state.

In Milledgeville, most everyone walks everywhere, so you are almost guaranteed to run in to people you know. However, in terms of town amenities, an update to the movie theater and bowling alley would be appreciated by residents. Milledgeville is definitely a small town with a close-knit vibe. On the weekends, especially during football season, many students like to visit the University of Georgia campus since it is so close to GCSU.
