4 College Junior

Student Body: The main campus of Gavilan College is located in Gilroy California, a fairly small town and a lot of people think it is in the middle of everywhere in the Bay area. There are a variety of people who attend this school, and to many its a first stepping stone on their way to a UC or CSU. The students are hardworking and generally friendly people, just trying to earn a AA. The staff and faculty are great, they are passionate proponents of education and work hard to assist students in anyway they can. Simply put, its a really great school,.

2 College Senior

Student Body: Majority of people blend in with each other, there is not a huge diversity here.

3 College Senior

Student Body: A lot of the times it is go to class and leave. People pretty much know each other from prior to school. I find a lot of people don't even want to be in school and are just there to please their parents or financial aid opportunities. Many people call it a continuation of high school kind of school.

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: It is not a very diverse area and most people go to their classes and leave. There is not often a group hanging out or studying on campus

4 College Senior

Student Body: The college that i attend has a lot of different ethnicities and it is cool because you learn something new everyday.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The guys at Gavilan have very different personalities. Some are considered geeky because they watch Star Trek and dress up as their favorite characters. Others like the jocks, tend to attract more females because of their fit bodies and skills on the field. Most of the guys are laid back and easy to get along with. The girls at Gavilan are typically easy to get along with and there doesn't seem to be any major issues with cat fights or fighting over guys. Most students at Gav are outgoing and seek adventure. A typical student at Gav usually works part-time and goes to school full-time. They also often hang around campus socializing then hang out with friends later at night. One can find plenty of Gav students at a local house party or any restaurant in town.

Living in a small community like Gilroy usually doesn't mean there is much diversity but there are people from all different backgrounds attending Gavilan. The school has quite a few events celebrating all the different cultures that surround the Gilroy area. There are plenty of chances for students to show off and take pride in the specific culture they identify with ranging from political parties, to ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientation, and many others. People seem to enjoy the diversity on campus and often interact with each other to learn more but most students stick to their own cliques and don't try to bond with people that are different than them.
