Academic Experience: I am a court reporting student at Gateway Community College. I have been in the program for 5 years now. The problem I have with it is that I feel we need more class time. It's an intense field of study and even though I have been in it for so long I feel I'm not getting all the education I need. I find that I have to study harder on my own because there are not a lot of resources at school. We are able to get internships after we reach our speed of 200 WPM. I wish we could get them sooner. Finally, the facility needs to be up-dated completely. Half of the school is new and the other is old.

Academic Experience: We are short staffed, and the curriculum is always changing. I wish it was more consistent or that I had another Stenography school available in Arizona to go to. There is one but it is online and I feel you need to be physically in a classroom in order to master our craft. As mush as this sounds somewhat of a mediocre school, I'm almost finish and I'm not a quitter. I just feel I should have a better education especially since I pay my own tuition.

Academic Experience: The program I am in is one of the hardest programs offered at the school. The workload is hard, but staying focused will help me to get through it as quickly as possible.

Academic Experience: This community college as a large Nursing population. This program is hard and many student drop out. Even though they school offers a lot of tutoring opportunities, many students are like me, they have to work support themselves and their families. If instructors would remember that many students are parents, spouses or heads-of-households, and assign homework and/or classwork accordingly, it would help to decrease the drop out rate.

Academic Experience: Respiratory Therapy - challenging curriculum that I feel will adequately prepare me. Professional and knowledgeable instructors that know their field. Facilities mirror real-world facilities. Workload is what I would expect for this degree (heavy). Haven't encountered the internship yet, still have 2 years to go. Nice thing is they allow you to take some of the core classes while waiting for your place in line, which was a 2 year wait for me (the norm, also same for nursing)..
