Campus Strictness: Furman is pretty strict when it comes to drinking on campus. FUPO is going to new lengths to break up the fun. Having 8+ in a North Village appartment is considered a party WITH OR WITH OUT ALCOHOL, which is ridiculous. Overall very strict

Campus Strictness: Honor codes are not really as tight as at other universities. I have not had any experiences where I know of someone telling on another person for cheating or for doing something that violates the honor code.

Campus Strictness: Nothing is too strict if you're not being stupid.

Campus Strictness: FUPO's presence on campus is only to keep members of the Furman community safe. FUPO officers are incredibly kind and will do everything possible to help students if they have any sort of problem.

The two most frustrating run-ins a student will have with Furman's Public Safety are for alcohol and parking violations. Many students accumulate hefty parking fines throughout the year that are difficult to pay off. The only time officers seem to let up a little bit is on the weekends. Alcohol violations also have harsh monetary fines, and a note sent home to the student's parents. Although many people are able to get away with alcohol on campus, the consequences seem unduly harsh for students who are over 21.

Although Public Safety doesn't make Furman's policies, they are certainly good at enforcing them. Of course, students appreciate having a safe campus, but most of them wish Public Safety restricted their lives to a much lesser degree.
