4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: I honestly love pretty much every one on campus. The campus is like one big family, which is especially evident when someone goes through hard times; people you may have never even seen before would be more that willing to help you when in need.

Off-Campus Dining: I try to save my money the best I can, but sometime I just can't resist the allure of some off-campus food. We have some great "safe" options like pizza and wing spots or Chinese food restaurants, but we also have some more adventurous places around. All of which students can discover themselves when they venture out to find their preferences.

Facilities: I honestly love student life on campus. From the people, to the places, Frostburg State University was definitely the best school I could have picked. The school is perfectly mid-sized, so you get to meet a lot of great students and are able to create meaningful relationships and connections with the genuinely caring, well-qualified faculty. The campus is already beautiful, rain or shine, and its constantly being renovated to stay as modern as possible for the students. We are currently adding an amazing new building for our Mass Communications, Math and Technology majors, as well as revamping our dining hall and food court. Dorm life has brought me great experiences while I've been here and there are many perks such as free laundry and free parking! Jobs are plentiful on campus and students can get great paying jobs with or without work study. The best thing about the campus is definitely the student involvement, in any department. Frostburg really encourages its students to get involved and build our leadership and communication skills. But the amount of opportunities and experiences that present themselves when you get involved on this campus are enough to make anyone speak of Frostburg in such a way. Just a great place to be.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek Life isn't really my thing but it is Huge on campus. Greek Life plays a huge role in the social aspects of campus, the community aspects and even academics.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love this school. I feel like I really belong here. Outside of the harsh winter, I don't have many complaints about the school.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Some buildings are older than others as the school is working hard to renovate the campus. Cumberland Hall as the worst freshman dorm, had to be the worst place on campus. Mostly because of the resident's lack of hygiene and respect for others. The housing process is fine. Priority goes based of class standing from Seniors to Freshman. The social atmosphere is ok. It is easy to find a solid group of friends that you will spend most of your time with.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The major sports such as Basketball and Football are horrible. The teams put up very poor winning percentages. The basketball courts are terrible as we have rubber floors instead of hardwood. The football team dominants the weight room which is inconvenient for regular students. Intramural Basketball is great. It is more popular than varsity basketball, very competitive and I would recommend it to anybody that has played basketball before at any level.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Due to the fact that we are in a very remote location there aren't many places to eat off campus outside of ordering pizza or chinese, or eating mcdonald's.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I am currently heading into my sophomore year and have not looked into off campus housing

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: For the most part we generally have a high level of acceptance of different races, political beliefs, religions and economic backgrounds.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The local Atmosphere is a beautiful mountain range with an abundance of wildlife and nature. The downside is we are in a very remote location and there is very little to do off campus for those who are not interested in activities like camping, hunting, hiking or rafting.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Campus strictness really depends on your professor or RA in your dorm. Some professors are very lenient when it comes to attendance or late work but some have zero tolerance and the same goes for RAs when it comes to noise violations and or alcohol.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of diverse people who enjoy different things. It is very easy to find someone with common interests as you.

Upon first entering Frostburg State University, visitors may notice that the school is in the center of a very small town. Everyone seems to know everyone. The campus is so small that you may see all of your friends at least once in the course of a day, but it is big enough that you will never meet every single student. Frostburg has a very "homey" feel to it, with teachers that make connections with the students in a way they may have never experienced in high school. The teachers take a genuine interest in the students’ learning. When a student puts a lot of effort into a class, the teacher takes notice and is more than willing to help him or her pass the class.

This campus is the type of "dream campus" that most incoming freshmen have in mind when they think about ideal college life. This place has teachers that care, long-lasting friendships, and it's a place where you will grow from a college freshman to an expert in whatever field you choose.
