5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: My credits were transferred easily and hassle free. The hours of classes are very important to me, due to my work schedule.

5 College Junior

Student Body: There is a diverse group of students in the student body and they are very career oriented.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I have not used yet.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Computers were easily accessible and printing was easy as well.

Online Courses: I really enjoyed my online classes. The professor's were great they were very knowledgeable of the subject and helped us passed the class. I learned a lot of new things. The discussions were great, It gave us an opportunity to interact with out classmates on a subject matter. The workload was tolerable and the registration process was easy.

Academic Experience: The X-Ray program is probably the smallest program at Fortis College. I enjoy the classroom environment but I feel like they didn't put that much money into the X-Ray classroom. The workload is bearable but definitely something you can't fall behind on. Externship sites are mediocre because most places aren't looking for someone that is a limited operator.

College Senior

Online Courses: There are no online courses given for MA, X-Ray or PCT. The only thing utilized online is to check your attendance and grades.

1 College Senior

Campus Resources: There is no cafeteria, just a lobby area with a few vending machines, refrigerator and microwave. The library is subpar. The only thing they do special things for are the nurses so if you're going for MA, X-Ray or PCT don't hold you're breath.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I personally had no problems with Financial Aid except receiving money the school owed me in a timely manner. I honestly don't think the cost of the program is consistent with the quality of education being taught and the job prospects. I'm fortunate enough that I didn't need any student loans because; I heard it was a nightmare at this school.

Career Services: They're not great, but they're not terrible. You definitely have to do your part, but I feel like a lot of people don't automatically recognize Fortis College or think it's great so the Career Services can only do so much for you.

Campus Resources: Total Access Library – Thelibrary is always open to allow me to print, copy and find resources. There is always a staff member eager to answer any of my questions. The wireless access is used in the library and in classrooms for testing.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Professors Are Invested – I feel that my professors are truely invested in my sucess. They are available and willing to offer suggestions and help to resolve issues. If they are unable to help, they can offer a contact within the school to answer my questions. They are experienced in their field and provide real world examples of what I will face after graduation.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: My Financial Aid Department is efficient and handles everything in a timely manner. They are always available to answer my questions. Although education is expensive, I feel it is well worth the investment.

5 College Junior

Career Services: After Graduation Services Are Avalibe . My school does offer after graduation placement in the field of study you took. I just started so im not there yet. Potential employers do go to Fortis to head hunt employees.

Student Body: The Diversity of People at My School Has Quit a Range. There is quit a range of different ethnical backgrounds at my school. Fortis is in Tampa so the majority of students are female and black. We do have people from cuba, phillipinees and hungria. most of the student body is female. but nursing is growing and you do see more and more male nurses. Most of us in my english class have childern.two out of sixteen do not have childern.Nursing is a profittable income so more people have been going to this class due to poor economic growth in the area.

College Junior

Academic Experience: Rn Bridge Program Is Fast Pace – The program is 16 month fast paced program. The staff is very helpful and passing not only the classes but the state board is one of their goals for all students. today is my 2nd day so workload isnt bad. the building is older but renovations are coming! They have job placement after graduation for all! Im on my first four classes so i dont have much to say about the curriculum. I havent been in school in 23 years so im nervous and they all encourage you everyday.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I think doing some of the classes online were 100% easier than dealing with the teachers in some cases.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Good School Overall – I think that the college itself is good and that there are some teachers there that do care for teaching and are good at it. But there are some who hate their job but still for some reason still work there.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Great Service – I think that GCSC has a great set up for the financial aid. You do have to make sure you have all you paperwork in hand when you go but if you do that it isn't very hard to get it filed.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: Academic Programs Are Designed to Help Locals – The programs at gulf coast really targrt all areas of beginning studies, especially for those of us that cannot afford to travel to another school,at this time.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Great Program Not Enough Certified Professors – This school has a good nursing program and the staff is very friendly, but one thing that is a nightmare is financial aid does not come in the time you expect. Lastly there is not a good amout of teachers that are certified to teach certian subjects that are required.
They keep using the same teachers for each course.

5 College Student

Tuition & Financial Aid: Great Help – The financial aid administrators at GCCC are very helpful and happy to go out of their way to assist their students.
