Academic Experience: The professors at my school are very knowledgeable and professional. They follow right along the with the core curriculum that we are required to know. They have a strong desire to see us students succeed! They know the material thoroughly and continue to learn new things to teach us so we are completely up to date with the hygiene field. If we're struggling in a subject, they never hesitate to set up times to sit down with us and mentor us on a one to one basis. They never overload us but still push us to help us grow!

Student Body: Within my program, the students seem eager to learn and very goal oriented. At the same time, we enjoy each other's company and share a lot of the same interests. We have grown very close and see each other outside of the school setting. Studying together is the best! We laugh, we stress and learn from each other. I couldn't go through this program with anyone else!

Academic Experience: My field is dental hygiene. I have been involved in the dental field as an assistant for some years prior to being accepted into the dental hygiene program. I had some knowledge going into the program and am happy to say, my knowledge has increased tremendously! I love the small class sizes and the ability to spend quality time learning together and not just being a number amongst a sea of students. I've developed wonderful professional relationships with my professors and admire their passion for the field in which they have earned a degree in, dental hygiene. The clinic in which we practice in and treat patients is advanced and up to date with the ever change technology surrounding the dental field. We have been exposed to the latest and greatest ways to treat our patients including the use of digital X-rays, intraoral cameras and lasers. We're preparing for real life practice situations by assisting hygienists at the local VA hospital. I appreciate the ability my program has given me to be able to work along with being a student in a tough field. They understand we still have to survive and do their best to ease our homework load by helping us achieve our academic goals in the classroom. I love my program and am so grateful I chose Fortis College of Salt Lake City to advance my education in the dental field.

Career Services: We're required to take classes that will prepare us for interviews and how to properly build a resume. Upon graduation, we're able to meet with a career advisor that will help us find job openings in our field and how to get ready for them.

Academic Flexibility: My schedule is posted ahead of time so I have plenty of time to inform my employer. I'm not in school all day which allows me to work a decent amount of time to support myself.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The one down fall is that my school doesn't offer much financial aid but the advisory's make extra effort to help you find scholarships as well as other ways to pay for school. I haven't ever felt like I was left in the dark.

Campus Resources: Out of all the different schools I have attended my school now stands out in the way of communication. When ever I have had a question or concern there has always been someone that was right there to help me though it. I believe that great communication is the key!

Academic Experience: Sometimes we have Dental hygienists teach some of our core classes and they just aren't very good at lecturing. It has made for extra work in those classes.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am in the Dental Hygiene program. We are in an accelerated program so it is a lot of studying in a short amount of time and a huge workload. The teachers for the most part are understanding, but it definitely can be stressful sometimes.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: Because we are a small private school, we don't have activities. I school is newer and looks very nice. It has a lot of state of the art equipment.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: We are charged $100 each semester for materials (staples, paper, etc.) and printing in the computer lab. We don't have a choice to pay it or not. Some semesters I don't even use the lab so I feel it is not fair that I have to pay for materials I am not even using.

Other than that, I have no complaints.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: Taking in consideration of the students ideas and either implementing or compromising is really important to the teachers and staff.

5 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial assistence at Fortis College is easy to apply for and they have staff to help you get what you can. I feel that I am getting my money's worth out of school because I am learning a lot and will not only get an education from school, but will get a career and a future.
