Florida is called the Sunshine State for a reason. Even in the winter, the temperatures have been know to get as high as 70°F, and the coldest low on record is 2 below zero, but that hasn't occurred since 1899. The general opinion around campus is that, on average, the weather is great. The dead of summer can get extremely hot and humid, so when considering on living arrangements, make sure the place has a working air conditioner. The locals will grudgingly admit that winters here aren't too bad. Heavy coats aren't needed, except in rare occasions. Most students can get by with a couple of sweaters.

Weather in Tallahassee is usually predictable, which makes it easy to prepare before you come to school. Spring and fall are the best times of year because the temperatures are bearable. Summer can be nice, but the warmer temperatures can take some getting used to. It does have its advantages, however, like more time to spend at the beach or the FSU Reservation soaking up rays and admiring the local fauna. On the down side, all this beautiful weather can make it difficult to stay indoors studying. Sometimes, you have to make tough decisions.
