Academics: Its a fantastic university with great programs but the out of state cost is absolutely ridiculous. On top of that there aren't people in the offices that are really willing to help. Its the same run around of "there's nothing else we can do for you." But other then that its a really great place. The campus is lovely as is the city and there are tons of fun things to do.

Diversity: Florida State University offers many organizations for any ethnicity, culture, religious belief or sexual orientation. We do not discriminate and always encourage everyone to express themselves in their own way, and will always be accepted for who they are.

Parking: Parking is always a problem with a lot of university. Since there are a lot of students as well as teachers, it is always hard to get a spot right away. Usually I have to wait and look around for about 30min to find a good parking spot.

Facilities: Florida State University has a lot of campus pride. The Seminoles are always represented by the students, and we always cheer for our athletic centers, especially when it is football season.

4 College Junior

Weather: Tallahassee is wonderful because you get the bright and sunshine weather as well as the nice and winter cool weather. It's the best of both worlds.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: They have a lot of resources for financial aid and they offer different sites to find scholarships as well. But one aspect that I would change is offering scholarships for those who do not necessarily have financial aid through FAFSA, but regardless want scholarships to pay off college.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of fast food restaurants and restaurant right next to campus. Favorites are Jimmy Johns, Chickfila and Chiptole.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of options and a lot of price ranges, but you really need to know what you're looking for in order to get what you need. There are buses that go off campus and pick up students. That's the best part even though you have to plan ahead to get to the bus on time.

Drug Safety: A lot of the parties if not all have drugs present other than alcohol whether it's cannabis, cocaine, molly, etc.

Health & Safety: While FSU tries to keep the campus safe with emergency lights and rides that are available to FSU students at night, such as the SAFE bus or Gotcha, there is still a lot of crime. I get an email about a robbery or other such crimes at least 3 times a month.

Scholarships: I received some financial aid from FSU, but as time passed, tuition increased and the scholarships decreased. The money you get Freshman year is not the same you will get Senior year so plan ahead.

Local Atmosphere: Tallahassee has a large population. While there are things to do, it mostly revolves around night life like bars, clubs, etc. I would like to see a bigger variety of things to do. There are some nice parks around. Even though the campus is pretty and has a lot of plants and trees, there is always construction going on somewhere. The safety in Tallahassee also is not very good.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel like this campus is very safe and secure, the only problem I have is that the outlying area around campus isn't very nice so at night it can seem a little threatening.

Majors: I am very happy wit the Biology department. All of the academic advisers and faculty are extremely helpful and knowledgeable of their job. One of my major career goals is to go to graduate P.A. school to become a physician's assistant and hopefully while I am still in undergrad, get an internship that will help aid me in my decision as to what field in physician's assisting I want to get into.

Majors: I'm a Biology major and so far many of my classes have been very interesting and most of my teachers were very helpful and good at what they do. Many people that I know that were also Biology majors found some of the classes to be fairly difficult, and it isn't an easy major, but so far I have been able to get through all my classes with the help that I've found with ease.

3 College Junior

Computers: There's quite a variety of computers ranging from laptop rentals, desktop PCs, to Macs. Most of the time there are computers available it just depends on what time of the day it is and if it's during exam week, then chances are there will not be a computer available, you're better off just bringing your laptop or studying at home. Sometimes the wifi is stronger in certain areas on campus but there is always a signal somewhere.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am a Biology major so many professors that would talk with the freshman about getting into the Biology department would sometimes scare them as to how "hard" of a major it is. True, Biology isn't an easy major, but for me I've breezed through many of my classes so far and haven't had to retake any classes but that's just me. If you're dedicated to science and really like Biology and Chemistry, then this major isn't that hard to stay in.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really don't know that much about the internships here, but I do plan on getting one once I am eligible and when the right time comes around. Many of my friends and family members who are in college have had internships of some sort and most seem to enjoy them and learn a lot on the job.

3 College Junior

Weather: When it rains almost everyday and its hard to get to class on time.

4 College Junior

Diversity: This university is very open to diversity and offer many opportunities for everyone.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: The FSU campus offers a 'safe' bus for students at night who feel insecure walking home alone, which is convenient. The main or daytime buses for FSU are less so as the schedule for pickups are routinely ignored and added with the extra time for additional stops and circumnavigating the campus, thee better option is to walk even if the destination is off the FSU property.

4 Niche User

Computers: There are many computers available throughout the campus. Watch out during midterm/finals weeks because it will be difficult to find one, but there's always a computer lab in some building that will be open.

Health & Safety: At times, you can get into the sketchier parts of Tallahasee, when you probably won't feel too safe. Other than that, it's easy to stay safe.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Nightlife is not only for student 21+, but also has great options for those 18+, which is most students. Not many house parties, the clubs are for those who like that scene, and the bars are more social.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
