4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Nightlife is for most student with exception of some clubs that are 21 or older. There is something to do for everyone at Florida State that does not always have to involve drinking.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There are people of every race, religion, and sexual orientation at FSU which makes it very diverse. FSU is very strong on the idea of respect and respecting diversity which gives it a good reputation.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received an average amount of financial aid from Florida State that was easy to achieve. I did not have to out in much effort besides the necessary requirements to receive the aid. I suggest searching for more scholarships within Florida State and speak to people in the Financial Aid department to help get everything you earned.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Florida State is definitely a walking campus!! While the parking garages are convenient with the number of available spots on a board outside, they all fill up fast!!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The food is at sometimes plentiful, but restricted in choice and in health. The new vegetarian section is much appreciated. There are always awkward transition periods of barley any food though between meals.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The football games are the coolest, I don't think any school has more spirit than Florida State!

2 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Tallahasse has it's perks but the only fun things are the clubs and fraternity/sorority houses. I have yet to find something besides the arcade and mall that motivates me to go out of town. There are a few restaurants but nothing else.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I love living on campus, everything is so convenient and only a five minute walk away.RA's are always there to help you and you get to interact with so many people that you make a lot of friends.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Florida State University is a great school! All the professor's are very knowledgeable and easy to talk too, the community is relaxing and there is no worries of being left out. The school also hosts many events but I feel as if they could host some events more towards the interest of minorities such as middle eastern or Hispanic people.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Although it is most common for students at Florida State to drink during the week and on weekends, there is drug use. The severity of drug use depends on who you hang out with. Peer pressure is not an issue, people won't treat you differently if you do or do not use. Drug use usually happens behind closed doors or in the bathrooms at clubs.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Florida State University is not only known for being extremely diverse, but also for have exceptionally good looking students. There is a large greek life community but also many other clubs that you can pretty much find any type of person. There are always opportunities to meet someone that you might get along with wether they are country, preppy, rocker, athletic, indie, or raver at all the events that are held at FSU.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: The university has parking garages as well as parking lots that are usually located by major dorms. While living in the dorm I didn't have much trouble with parking because there was a lot right next to where I lived. Now that I am living in an apartment it is much harder and I usually have to leave my apartment 30-40 minutes early to make sure I get a spot and get to class on time.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: If you live in the dorm, RA's and Campus PD are very strict about underage drinking and drug use. If you come home after a night of going out and are loud and causing havoc, the RA's with get campus PD involved and you will be charged. You usually have to go to a meeting set up with the university and write a bunch of essays explaining what you did and why it was wrong. If you get caught in a situation like this, it goes on file with the university so it is best to be discreet with underage drinking and drug use.

5 College Senior

Health & Safety: I always feel safe at FSU. It's a beautiful and clean campus. There are multiple light posts where there are blue lights that will turn off if there is something dangerous going on. Also, you can press the call button and the FSU police will be at your service in less than a minuet.

3 College Senior

Diversity: There are lots of clubs and groups, everyone can find a niche

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Worst options include Kellum and Smith, they are older dorms. Lots of fun things to do on campus that are free

Local Atmosphere: Tallahassee is a great college city. It is great to see everyone come together to tailgate and cheer on FSU during sporting events!

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The dorms at Florida State University are great. There are many options for every type of student. Each and every dorm has a different atmosphere. I personally lived in the honors dorm, Landis, and I loved it because it was right in the middle of campus. I think the best dorms are Landis, Gilchrist, Wildwood, or Reynolds because each of these dorms have a very social atmosphere and are conveniently located on campus.

4 College Junior

Majors: I love my Editing, Writing, and Media program. They are very internship and experience based, so they push opportunities at the students constantly.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There is an apartment complex for ever price range imaginable. The ones by campus are more expensive, but if you have a car you can find a good complex for a decent price range. Styles depend on preference and most are good with roomate matching. Crime is common, such as robberies & theft, but if you live somewhere with good security it shouldn't be an issue.

4 College Junior

Majors: Although we don't have every major imaginable, there are so many flexible programs for you to choose from. Some are limited entry, such as the Exercise Science program or the Mass Media & Communications program.

4 College Junior

Academics: Teachers are always challenging, and the curriculum varies between programs. Some are more internship/experience based, and some are more in-class/lab based. Do your work and go above and beyond to impress your professors and you'll be set.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: The menu's get repetitive but they never taste horrible! The breakfast however is amazing! Flexbucks are used everywhere on campus, and in certain dorms, meal plans are not required. There are also kitchens in every residence hall, although I'm not sure you'd want to use them! In the food court, options are asian cuisine, Pollo Tropical, Papa Johns, and we're building a SubWay

Transportation: Buses are always running and the off campus routes are usually on time. We now have a phone app that shows the buses and their locations in live time so you'll never miss a bus again!

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I've Never Had Any Problems – Yo don't have to hassle the office, but make sure you fill your Financial Aid out early to maximize the money you get back from the school and from FAFSA
