Facilities: The College of Music possesses many, many practice rooms for students; more than other universities. We also have Ruby Diamond concert hall, which has the best acoustic quality of probably any other university concert hall in the state. We have a prestigious piano technology lab as well as a music research center that is known around the world.

Majors: I am in the Music Therapy program here, and it is wonderful! My professors are all very supportive, I have many opportunities to engage in experiential and service-based learning, and the program here is among the top 5 in the nation.

4 College Senior

Majors: There is, of course, the audition process; that's the most difficult part. The FSU College of Music is a very competitive school, but as long as you show the skills and potential that you have, you will be great!

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining really is great! There are many small/family-owned businesses and vegan/vegetarian options. If you like Pho, there are a few really good places to eat it!

College Senior

Greek Life: I am not a member of Greek life, so I don't think I would provide an accurate review.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: The student body is very diverse. Being such a large university, though, it is hard to really pinpoint and describe all of our students.

3 College Senior

Transportation: The campus and public transportation seems pretty average.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: Campus resources and FSUPD do their best to combat it, but drinking (especially underage drinking) is, I think, a relevant issue on and around campus.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Athletics are such a huge part of the culture of FSU, especially football and baseball. Campus Rec is always out to recruit people to join in at the FSU Reservation, intramural sports, and campus activities.

Overall Experience: I truly believe that joining a sorority really changed my college experience for the better. I have made the most amazing friends and while I am expanding my social horizons, I am also able to stay focused on my studies and have people who share those interests with me. My school has given me the opportunity to come into my own and grow as a leader, which I think is essential for making it in the world and actually making a difference instead of passively watching life happen.

5 College Junior

Majors: I just got accepted into the Public Relations major this past semester and I am so excited to be a part of it. I have already taken some of the classes that are a part of the program and they are absolutely incredible, as are the professors. They really have a lot of life experience in the PR field and have a lot of wisdom to share with us because of that, which we could not get from a textbook. The professors are also constantly trying to change with the times in order to provide different teaching styles for people who might learn differently.

Majors: I am currently working an unpaid internship for the summer at a communications firm in Tallahassee. It is a political PR firm and it has been very interesting to be in the middle of such a busy office where so many important things happen. I particularly enjoy seeing how PR efforts really can make a change in the world as well as in public opinion. I work three days a week from 8-5 and I hope to continue interning during the school year.

Guys & Girls: Although this is not something that I choose to judge people on, we tend to have a pretty overall attractive student body at FSU. Greek life is one of the bigger interests on campus and there are many other amazing on campus organizations that people choose to be a part of as well. A good portion of the students enjoy going out to the bars around Tallahassee, but those people also spend a whole lot of time in the library as well.

5 College Junior

Athletics: We have a national championship winning football team and our other teams also perform incredibly. Students live for football season especially, but attend other games as well and incorporate it into other parts of student life. Athletics are a big part of the tradition at FSU so students and alumni are all extremely involved and the school spirit is at the top of the charts.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The school is very co-ed. Due to the hot and dry weather many people dress is tank tops and shorts. it is a fashion forward school.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: The freshman dorms are not suitable to live in. It is better and cheaper to live off-campus.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining is not needed because the school has many restaurants.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is usually cheaper yet resembles the same qualities of having a roommate. Therefore, one can enjoy the company of others rather than living in a apartment alone.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
