5 College Junior

Drug Safety: FSU has a big campus where you can make plenty of friends that are not involved with drugs or alcohol! While substances can be found, as at every college, you can make the decision to not be around it.

5 College Junior

Weather: The weather of FSU is just as anyone would imagine: immaculate.

4 College Junior

Facilities: The sports at this school are great & all the students really support the teams.

5 College Junior

Weather: Especially nice in the winter months Nov-Mar temps are 60's, summer hot as expected after all you are in FL.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Football games are big, outside the school Tallahassee is a nice town reasonably close by, buses available. Better if you have a car but only use the car off campus. Lots of stores nearby.

3 College Junior

Parking: Difficult as is at most colleges, would recommend leaving the car at home if possible.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: Weather in Tallahassee is great, especially October to April. The fall and spring are beautiful with lots of flowers on campus. The summer is hot (it is Florida after all) and having an umbrella for pop up thunderstorms is smart. The winter is mild although a light jacket is needed most mornings.

Campus Strictness: I don't live on campus, so I can't contribute to anything about housing. Academically, plagiarism and cheating is taken very seriously, and many teachers will enforce this rule.

3 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: There's a good mix of people. Many fraternity, preppy styles, country styles, artsy types... Girls are more preppy or not; a lot of individuals go to FSU.

Drug Safety: You don't hear a lot about drug activity at Florida State, but it really depends on who you spend time with.

5 College Senior

Athletics: We're awesome. The football team is and all of our other sports are too. Go noles!

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: It's a big school so you get a big mix of people. You pretty much get what you'd expect depending on where you go. If you go to a frat or sorority you'll meet people who care about Greek life and if you go to the fine arts building you'll find theatre and art majors. You have to go out if you want to meet people unless you're really social in class which can be hard. Everyone is usually nice and won't get in your way, but will help if you have a question.

Campus Dining: There are enough restaurants within walking distance that if you get tired of campus dining you can go there or get it delivered. The on campus dining can get expensive if you don't have a meal plan.

4 College Senior

Weather: The biggest problem is rain. When hurricane season comes around it's difficult to get to class and stay dry. We also have thunderstorm and flood warnings without class cancellation. If you have an umbrella and dress correctly you'll be fine.

3 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: For the most part, our campus is safe. However, there are still robberies that happen sporadically throughout the school year.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: My financial experience was great at Florida State University! I was offered the aid I needed to pay for school. The financial advisers are very friendly and work hard to serve the students. Also, the financial aid disburses on time! Reliable!

4 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: The houses are grand but not very affordable for me.

3 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: There is a bus that is included in the cost of tuition.

5 Recent Alumnus

Majors: I really enjoy my program. If I could do it all over again, I would study a little more. I hope to go to med school one day

4 College Student

Academics: All of their programs have professors who are experts in their field. They are always willing to help and answer any questions you have. They go above and beyond for you.

5 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: There are many new apartment complexes that are luxurious, our you could live in the cheaper apartments that shuttle you onto campus for free.

5 College Student

Academics: The psychology major is the number one in the state of Florida. It is also the oldest and is very into research. The professors i have had so far are amazing and I love it here.

4 College Student

Guys & Girls: Like a typical college campus. Because this school has a well known football team there are more athletic guys walking around on campus than at smaller universities without athletic programs.

3 College Student

Scholarships: I am just starting the process, but it seems like a major pain in the behind.

3 College Junior

Majors: The internships I have had seem to be competitive. Most think naively that if they do a great job they will be offered a position. This is untrue. because the company offers internships there will be another round of students to do just what you did. I was offered employment from an internship but it just happen to be a right time right place situation. but the learning experience is worth it. just don't stress it too hard.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
