4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Though Tallahassee is a very large city, and there are many incredible places to dine, most of the off-campus restaurants near FSU are fast food. The healthier food options are, the better. Student discounts are also usually difficult to come by.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: It was quite easy to get into my program. I was actually considered a transfer student, even though I was a freshman, because I obtained my A.A. in high school. So I declared my major as soon as I enrolled and I didn't have to do anything special.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I'm an English major and I've had good classes and some not so good classes. It all depends on who's teaching. At first I got a lot of graduate students, but I learned to watch out for that and now I try to sign up for classes taught by professors. I have had some great professors and even some good graduate students. It all depends.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: FSU has a great nightlife. They have multiple bars and clubs minutes from campus. The university provides shuttles and taxis at a reduced rate for students who choose to drink so they can get back to campus safely. The bars and clubs are always offering up events and drink promotions as well a entertainers and DJ's. There is something for everyone! Whether it is Thursday night or Saturday night you can always find a good time somewhere around campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The dining halls have very good options for everyone. They have a hot food section for when you are feeling like eating moms homemade cooking. They have a vegetarian section and an amazing wrap station. The union offers up great restaurant choices such as: Miso, Pollo Tropical, Chilis, Salad Creations, Einsteins, and Subway. It is great too because has a variety of options for meal plans and they all come with Flexbucks which you can use at any dining facility on campus

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are really expensive and the rooms are not that big. Some dorms are renovated and others look prehistoric.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: I wouldn't really be able to speak on that since I don't partake in those types of activities but it all depends on what kind of people you hang out with.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is extremely bi polar, especially during the summer months. I would suggest to always carry an umbrella. You never know when it'll start raining/

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Public transportation is great! they have bus stops all around campus and even some off campus. If you do not have a car don't fret!

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: FSU literally has the best nightlife you can imagine. Bars and clubs are all for the most part 18+ and everyone of them is a great time. The Night Nole runs from all the campus dorms to all the most popular places and its free, so you don't have to walk or spend money on a cab. If you're looking for a school to party and have a great time any night of the week, you cannot go wrong with FSU.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: If you're looking for a school with a lot of school spirit, FSU is the place to go. Every home football game the student section (and entire stadium as a matter of fact) is completely filled. The Seminoles are always in the top 15 of the BCS rankings and they are a very good team. Football games are what everyone looks forward to and the games are so much fun because everyone gets so into it. Everyone is proud to be a nole.

3 College Freshman

Parking: I have my car here and it is definitely really helpful, but its by no means necessary. Usually at least one of your friends will have a car and if not the bus routes take you pretty much anywhere you need to go. Parking during class hours is a huge pain and almost impossible but once the class day is over, for those who live on campus parking really isn't all that bad

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: FSU is a great school, but it does have its rules. As long as you try to abide by them, you will do just fine. They can be pretty lenient when it comes to some things.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I attend Florida State University, and I have definitely fallen in love with this school. It has such a great vibe about it. Friendly faces everywhere ready to help if you need anything. The teachers are great, and are very tentative if you are ever having any problems in their class. The workload is doable, as long as you take the time and plan out your schedule.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Most sororities have houses, some fraternities do not. Non-greeks and greeks both add to the social atmosphere positively. Non-greeks and greeks treat each other positively also.

2 College Freshman

Parking: I don't have a car and don't feel the need for one. The campus is small enough that I can walk anywhere and parking is a problem.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The process of getting into a program is fairly straightforward at FSU. You have to complete the perquisites for the major, which are presented on the school's website as well as your advisor's office, and then you apply for the major once you are nearing completion of the prerequisites.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had an internship yet, but I am currently in the process of acquiring some for the summer. Even though I have just began the process, I feel fairly comfortable with what it is that I need to do apply for internship programs. The school has plenty of resources available to assist individuals in finding specific internships as well as ways to best acquire them. My main concern with finding an internship is whether it will legitimately be beneficial towards my future goals and the time commitment that I need to make as I also have a job.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There is a huge variety of people at Florida State, which is wonderful. You get the chance to meet people everyday that come from all different walks of life that have aspirations spread across a massive spectrum. There are plenty of good-looking people here if that is something that you're wondering about. There are fitness buffs as well as very well dressed individuals with unique clothing style, and anything in between. The social life here is also very active, and it is sure to cater to a large variety of personal interests.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received a considerable amount of financial aid, but I definitely feel as if I should have been offered more. The process of managing your financial aid is not extremely difficult, but it is not clear-cut either. I have lost count the amount of times I have been uncertain about what I need to complete or take care of and have had to consult the financial aid office, which itself can be difficult to do at times.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I am thankful for the Bright Futures and Florida pre-paid programs available to me. The process of getting your funding can be a little sticky though. In my case, I didn't want to receive my funds on an FSU Suntrust bank card, and instead got my own through my personal bank. This made getting my scholarship money a slower process (about 2-3 weeks into the semester) instead if right away. This made it difficult for grocery shopping and I had to call my mom for extra money a few times. It is beneficial that FSU is able to directly deposit my funding into my bank account. That is why I rated the scholarship process with a B+. Because they are so familiar with the Florida scholarships, I was able to receive all of my money every time.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Public relations is extremely competitive at Florida State, however, it is a very rewarding experience and it taught by the extremely talented Dr. Rayburn who speaks from experience. The program allows for students to explore communications while giving them room to double major, exploring other interests. For example, I wish to double major in public relations and sports management because I am interested in fitness related businesses.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Perhaps the worst thing about campus dining is the regularity of dining hall food in Suwannee and Fresh Food; simply, you'll probably get bored of dining hall food. Some of the meat is questionable, but some of the dishes are good but breakfast can be a bland affair. FSU gives out flexbucks in their meal plans, which allows people to eat on-campus at places like Subway, Einstein's Bagels, Chilli's, Salad Creations, and the food court. Denny's is also a very popular spot on campus. I wish there were more healthy choices in campus dining, but at least there is variety.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I plan to move off-campus next semester. I have heard positives from various places around campus, but where someone lives depends on the person's preferences (cost and location.)

College Sophomore

Athletics: I'm a sports fan, but this is still the school to go to find a large fan support and school spirit atmosphere.
