3 College Freshman

Athletics: F L O R I D A S T A T E!! GO NOLES. That's all you can think about on gamedays... forget about schoolwork

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: It's nice being a student here, lots of parties and events going on. However, it's very loud and often you can smell alcohol and weed around campus. Parking sucks, but it's not impossible.

2 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Food isn't bad, it just isn't great. What can you expect? It's overpriced, too.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: You can avoid drugs and alcohol, but you will still notice it around campus.

Off-Campus Dining: The options of off-campus dining are endless. Many places deliver so students that don't have a car can still give them their business. Late-night options are scattered all over town and deliver late as well. Also, one of kind stops are located in town to because institutions of Tallahassee.

Academics: Political Science and International Relations is a great major to be in at Florida State because the university is centered in the state capitol. There are a lot internship opportunities, and study abroad programs to get students started on the right foot.

Academics: Although the workload was difficult as a transfer student, it was just an adjustment and I got on the right track. My other university was quite small so I got personal with many of professors, and it seems a tad difficult to acquire the same relationships at FSU.

Campus Dining: I usually eat on campus about two times a week the way my schedule falls, and I sometimes get annoyed at the variety of choices. I try to eat all organic so usually I just bring my lunch. There isn't like a cafe place where you can get a quick soup/salad/sandwich for lunch, but that is my only complaint.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am currently doing an internship through the Florida Senate and it's absolutely superb for a Political Science major. Through the internship you learn the real ins and outs of how a bill gets passed and all the committees that partake in the bill getting passed.

4 College Junior

Majors: It was hard at first being a transfer student, it almost felt like a risk. Because what can you do after you graduate with this degree? But, after I landed my internship and started getting in the swing of the semester I definitely started to appreciate my major.

Weather: Florida State in fall is an absolute dream. Perfect Florida sunshine, with a cold autumn breeze. Summer here was brutal, constantly raining and the roads flooded very quickly.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Bus shuttle is on point, always on time and is very convenient.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: The Health Center is grade A, absolutely phenomenal. Always helpful, informed, and pleasant. I have never received better treatment at a facility and felt more welcomed. I also feel very safe on campus, campus police is great at directing traffic and are always patrolling.

Diversity: A lot of student affiliations opportunities.

4 College Junior

Facilities: FSU has great amenities, but you have to seek them yourself. I love all the cozy study spots on campus. The student union has a variety of places to choose from my favorite is the sushi stop. The brick is very aesthetically pleasing. There is a lot student involvement opportunities.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The campus is not strict in the sense, they just want the campus to be as safe as possible.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I was a transfer here so I had to pick my off-campus housing quickly. Tallahassee is a college-town and a lot landlords prey on college students and take advantage of them. I pay about $500 in rent a month because our utility bill always is "over". And the management is always clueless on what is happening with their residents.

College Junior

Greek Life: Not a part of Greek life, can't afford it.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: This university is my dream school, and I have made many sacrifices to be here. I live paycheck to paycheck and work about 30 hours a week to stay on top my bills. The transition is hard because the academics are superior, but overall I would say I am blessed to be attending FSU.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Always packed with students, very time consuming to get one-on-one time with an officer. Not a lot of help with transfer student scholarships, mainly just loans. Not very personable except one main officer who has guided me through the loan process. Also, they never pick up the phones if you had a minor question.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: The Wellness Center was recently built, but has proved its worth over and over. Along with regular doctors, there is a women's clinic, a travel clinic, lab testing center, x-ray center, physical therapy and many other services that are offered to the students. The campus police are also good. They have regular routes and they offer self-defense classes to female students.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: While I do not participate in many activities on campus, I have very happy memories on the few that I did go to. I personally love going to the campus movie theater. They will show movies that were released a few months ago and sometimes have special features of movies that have yet to be released. I would definitely choose to go to FSU again if I had the chance because I have met amazing people and I have enjoyed my time here.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are several different types of housing options for students, but what the student can actually use is completely different. Some places are so expensive only the wealthy students can live there. The cheaper housing are more accessible but there is more competition for spots and there can be problems with the housing in general.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are many different ideas and opinions on campus and it is not hard to find a group that agrees with you. There are many different religious organizations as there as political. The economic status of students also varies greatly, with some students being very wealthy and other barely able to pay their bills.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: There are several restaurants on campus. The majority have regular hours, but there are one or two that are open all the time. There are food trucks on and near campus that students use. There are also the two campus dining halls that many students frequent as well.
